Almost everything I've read or heard has been about the Giants being lucky to have won the Super Bowl. And they were.
One of the idiots on Around the Horn said that Brady could have five Super Bowl rings.
Right. He could also have zero. The Pats were lucky to have won their three (Tuck rule, kickoff out of bounds against Carolina, McNabb vomiting, etc.) as well.
I just looked at Brady's career stats. The years they won, he was pretty mediocre. As he's become more prolific statistically, his playoff wins have gone down.
Point being - the Patriots have never won a Super Bowl because they've relied too much on Brady. It was a team effort.
In a way, he was Joe Montana at the start of his career and he's ending it as Marino.

Yes the Giants got a break on the Walker drop. But did any of you see the NFL Films replay of the game last night with the players and refs microphones coming into play? Big break for Pats. if you remember the holding call on Giants with 4 minutes left in the first half when Jacobs rushed for a first? NFL Films shows two refs debating the hold, the head ref didnt think it was a hold, thought the defender spun around and did a flop, other ref thought it was a hold, he won out and Giants penalized 10 yards and punted. After next play ref approches defender and asks him if he was held, he says no i flopped, you guys blew the call.
Point being, one ref gets it wrong. Instead of Giants possibly running out the half and expanding their lead to either 12-3 or 16-3, the are forced to punt, Pats score and lead 10-9. That was a possible 14 point swing on one bogus call. Talk about luck...
