Mayfield's injury

He has a partially torn labrum on his left, non-throwing shoulder.  This could explain some of his recent poor performances.  I got to see the CHI-CLV game and he missed some wide-open receivers badly.

I don't get how it affects his throws. If it's his non throwing shoulder. But man if he takes a hit tho and hits the ground.. ouch. But yea I heard his passing has been suspect.. hmmm

Jedrick Wills out.. as well as backup Chris Hubbard.. that left tackle spot is gonna be dicey. Baker better get that ice bucket ready after the game...

Maybe its better that mayfield is slightly banged up....rely on that running game a bit more...

I had MIN +2 last week.  Even though BM's QBR was a dismal 59.5, CLV managed to cover the spread with a staunch DEF effort.  When I checked later in the week MIN was +2.5, so I took a MIN +8.5/AZ-LAR under 60.5 teaser.  Both picks were wrong with the original lines but the extra 6 points pulled me through.

I passed on the CLV-LAC game, but happily it will be televised here in Los Angeles.  I will be watching it while enjoying an Ayinger Oktober Fest-Marzen, my all-time favorite beer.

That is my basic thinking.  I have repeatedly said, "Injuries are bullshxt," so I also think the public is overreacting to BM's injury.  Also both Drew Dinsick and Rob Pizzola favor CLV.  I passed because Massey's power ratings rank LAC's DEF #2 and CLV's only #9 while the LAC's have faced a tougher schedule.

I like LA Chargers -2.5 at home.  Justin Herbert continues to grow and get better with every start.  Charger fans must be so happy with upper management who drafted Herbert.  He is the real deal, and whether Baker is 100% or not this game goes down to the wire.  Chargers did just knock off KC in Arrowhead stadium.

I haven’t read what type of labrum tear it is but assuming he’s playing it’s possible it’s a SLAP tear, low grade.  The non throwing shoulder reacts in the opposite manner of the throwing shoulder when he cocks and releases the ball but the motion in his left arm would be quite painful regardless of the type or severity of the tear.  Mayfield likely compensated his throwing technique to offset the pain which makes sense seeing as he couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn last week.

now he’s had a week to adjust to the injury and team doctors probably shot his shoulder area full of who-the-hell-knows-what and off he goes.  Man, I love how the NFL cares about their players.  Fukcing cattle…. We just can’t get enough of this and they throw out these players with little regard for their overall health and safety all for our viewing entertainment…

I’m just waiting for best line possible to get the browns.  No one really understands how good this defense is quite yet.  

I got mine at Trader Joe's.  TJ's is great in that they let you purchase singletons from six-packs with no upcharge!  That's great for guys like me who just drink one beer a week.  It also helps those who want to sample a "new" (to them) beer without committing to a six-pack (four-pack in AOM's case).

Baker played great and so did Herbert.  2 great teams and they both put up alot of points.  Good game.

Good game, exciting game, but I'd have to say both defenses might be a tad overrated.

BM's QBR on Sunday was 122.5, his highest of the season.  More support for my "Injuries are Bullshxt" hypothesis.  It was CLV's DEF that let LAC cover the spread.

OTOH, LAC's rushing DEF is not exactly first-rate.  It will be interesting to see if their other strengths are enough to reach the Super Bowl.
