Watching the Cincy/Ten replay on the NFL channel. My goodness, what an abomination this clown was on the coaching , scheme and overall strategy for this game. Just wow.
This dude was the 1 overall seed with a bye week and I truly think he spent the 2 weeks watching Netflix and stuffing his face.

He and his QB chocked. 3 interceptions on the QB. The awful calls of going for 2 instead of taking the extra point in the first, the 3rd and inches call in the 4th (with a QB run sweep) continuing to run the rusty Henry when the backup was gashing the bungles for huge chunks, and on and on are all on him. The defensive plan they put in during the week was excellent. But he slept on the offense.

1). NFL kickers are making 92.4% of their extra points attempts this season.
2). This season, the NFL success rate is 49.6% from 2-pt conversion.
Kicked a 92.4% possibility extra point instead of chose 49.6% 2-pt conversion and failed. Titans could have 7-6 point lead over Bengals in late 2nd quarter. But Vrabel chose to attempt the 2-pt conversion and failed, much higher chance to kick the extra point and take 7-6 lead early in that game. Titans could have 17-16 lead, instead of 16-16 tie, in the wanning minutes of that game.
Controversial game managing by the head coach just dearly cost a team in the NFL playoff.

The kick was already good! He took it off the board and went for two for no reason, other than ego, whatsoever.

Silly, it's still early in the game, make no sense not to take 7-6 lead.
Just having their nose out front in a game where all the pressure was on them would have made a big deal psychologically. These coaches know too much (or think they know a lot) about analytics and too little about human psychology.

Additionally, rarely do you see an offensive team commit a pre snap penalty that worked in their favor to negate a bigger negative play. Bengals twice committed penalty’s that somehow worked in their favor- had it all go their way in this game.
I don’t know how much exactly the Bills game will impact KC emotionally at the start of the AFCCG as it was a hard fought game for the ages but their is a recipe here for a blowout. I like the fact that Cincy beat the Chiefs late in the regular season. Especially if you’re backing KC.

Everything broke their way and they barely won. The Titans were the right side. They just didn’t execute on offense, and the coach and QB both chocked. KC in a blowout, just like last year against Buffalo after barely surviving the Browns.

LOL Action...when I saw the topic I thought you were gonna tell us he was just fired.
Always has that Mike McCarthy look on his face.
Cheers bud
Titans kept 'em outta the end zone twice...they finally take the lead...OH, WAIT...COACH DON'T WANT THE LEAD...don't want his team to look up at the scoreboard and go "damn...we're in control now!!!" That's HOF coaching right there!

I have a Vrabel coach of the year ticket in my pocket at 4-1. Felt like he needed to win that game for it to cash. What’s worse is that it seemed like he coached a horrible game. Feelsbadman

Titans beat themselves. Gave away the extra point. A qb run from shotgun when you have Henry in the backfield instead. Playing for overtime with two minutes to go and then gifting the other team the ball at the 50. The Titans absolutely gave away the game. Bengals won but nothing to sing home about. This was a case where one team advanced but nobody really won the game. Bengals pass defense was trash all game gave up deep bombs to Jones and brown. If any other qb other than tannehill Titans would have won big.

Life is beautiful through the lens of hindsight, isn't it?
Let's look at your numbers again, but not in the tunnel vision of your hindsight, but the numbers for the season, which is a much broader scope in which to view decisions.
You claim Kickers make 92% of their extra point attempts. Thus over 100 attempts they would score 92 points.
You claim 2 point attempts are successful 49.6% of the time. Thus over 100 attempts they would score 99 points.
Now factor in that the 2 point attempt in this game was from the 1 yard line and not the 2. Now factor in that Tenn has a strong power running game.
You kids can do the math here with probabilities, can't ya?
Also, saying that the Titans would of had a 17-16 lead instead of a 16-16 tie is false. Don't you think the Bengals would have gone for 2 on their TD?
As for Vrabel being a bad coach, those of you who say that are in the tiniest of minority. If he got fired today how long do you think he would be out of a job???
Tenn lost this game because Tannehill threw 3 INT's.
End of story

Vrabel played too many games without his helmet on... That was originally an old quote by LBJ about Gerald Ford...said that "Ford played football without a helmet".
I never heard that ...
Hilarious

He still might win it ..Amazing that the Titans earned the #1 seed without Henry for so long ....Vrabel messed up in the playoff game repeatedly and still almost won ...

All great comments on Vrabel/Tannehill ...... slaughtered the game, defence exceptional, Burrows kissed on the d%^k being sacked 10 times and still won, thanks no less to the kicker .... Vrabel and Tannehill, second tier for ability ..... Henry clearly not at his best ... Chiefs in a romp for mine
