Need clarification on this

Question

I had A.J. Green to have at least 79 yards in the Bengals/Falcons game.

The first play after the two minute warning, he makes a catch for 16 yards, which is called off due to PI on Atlanta. Since he finished with 78, I have to ask. I could understand the penalty standing if there’s no catch. With Green catching the ball regardless, I guess I’m a little confused. Seems like it’s a really crappy way to lose on a bet (since the catch was made and the yards were there).

I didn&#x27;t see the play but there had to be a benefit of them taking the penalty. No coach is going to take away a catch and yards if the penalty isn&#x27;t more beneficial. I had Colts &#x2B;1 in last leg of three team parlay. Overtime the coach goes for it on fourth down in his own territory with 20 seconds left. Doesnt get it and team gets a field goal. Would of won $2k

Well on NFL.com.  The play was a catch for 16 yards.  But the penalty ended up being 16 yards.  That&#x2019;s why I&#x2019;m like huh?

Was called defensive PI.

Yeah that doesnt make any sense. Unless it was like 3rd and 20, compketion for 16 yds, the PI would allow for a first down

It was 2nd and 11 at the Bengals 34 yard line and it was the very first play after the two minute warning.

So here&#x2019;s my thing.  I know what the yardage is according to NFL.com.  But this makes no sense.  I had this in a parlay with the over in the Monday nighter.

Hey Popcorn, that&#x27;s a real scuzzy way to lose a bet for sure...I&#x27;ll add my two cents, not sure of the score or game situation other than that what you have said that it was first play after the 2 minute warning...perhaps they accepted the penalty instead of the play to stop the clock, as opposed to clock running when they whistle it in if not accepting penalty??  Obviously that only applies if he caught the ball in bounds which I don&#x27;t know I didn&#x27;t see the play.
