Tonight is a tough game to cap. The Pats have beaten everyone by at least 10 points for the exception of Buffalo so far this year. And for the exception of Buffalo, the Pats have put up at least 30 points a game. So lets assume they put up 30 against the Jets, for the Jets to cover, they have to put up at least 20, which blows your Under.
Now the great Pats defense. They have allowed only an average of 8 points per game, but if they are putting up 30, again, there goes the spread. Basically you are betting that the Pats aren't going to score 30 or more points, and right now it is sitting at 27. So a 27-17 game is a loser for your Under bet, or if the Jets score only 16 its a loser for your spread.
The Pats haven't been in a 50+ point game this year. Me, I would tease the total up to 50 and the Spread to -3.
