Question

What do you people get out of wagering a teaser? Where is the value? I just don't understand the thought process. I've never attempted to look at the terms of one, so help me if I'm wrong.

First you have to pick two or more wagers that you could get at -110 and parlay them(loser situation) to get -120 return? And for that price you are somehow at an advantage because you get 6 or 7(free) points against the spread?

Wouldn't wagering both straight give a better return? Like 1-1 you lose juice. 1-1 on a teaser you lose all. How many wagers really fall on the listed number?

Please explain to me the thought process.

With college you would be correct... But the national fixed league is different... You have to realize that NFL games are rarely blowouts. Look at the ESPN scoreboard for the past several weeks and look how close each game is. So then you look at the game, and see how well that offense did against good defenses or bad defenses, and vise versa. So last week I had Jags &#x2B;12.5, Giants &#x2B;14, Bears &#x2B;8 (3 team 11 point teaser)You look at teams who are underdogs, and you ask yourself if you can see them getting blown out by this many points or more.

I&#x27;m a giant noob here, but I love teasers.  Never playing anything else for a while until I build a decent bankroll.  Over the long haul you&#x27;re probably right OP but for me, I&#x27;ve been having good luck with them as the first 2 weeks have been close games mostly.   &#xA; &#xA;I got this teaser set up right now&#xA;NYJ &#x2B;16&#xA;NYJ@CLE O/26.5&#xA;BUF&#x2B;30&#xA;KC&#x2B;6.5&#xA; &#xA;Payout is -160

I know the odds are shitty but with the way these games are playing out teasers are hitting.  Once teams start showing who the really are in a few weeks then ill back off the teasers but for right now when there are a bunch of pretenders and such I&#x27;d rather get the points and hope for a close game as opposed to trying to figure out who wins and by how much.  Won 5 out of 7 teasers so far these past 2 weeks.   The moment I start losing ill switch it up.

Pretty sure the average NFL game is 9 points off the spread and pretty consistent over the years.

I picked a week to check from last year so I picked Week 8. Well the first game was 40-0 with a spread of 3. I laughed and said not fair to use this week so I went to Week 9

The difference in the Spread and actual were: 16, 28, 21, 13, 10', 6, 12, push, 11, 7', 8', push, 10'

Not a lot of teasers won that week, except by Vegas

Let me express my opinion on TEASER bet...I admitted that Teaser is sucker bet. In the long run, Vegas will take all your $$$. Once you bet on teaser, you can not pick any team straight up anymore unless it is favor 3 pts or less. But, if you check NFL game last week (Wk #2), teaser (&#x2B;/- 6 pts) teaser with dog is 15-1. Most of game are close scores.  And on Monday game, whatever you pick (Favor /teaser hi, Favor/teaser under, Dog/teaser hi, Dog/teaser under... They are all WINNER.

Whats up WussieMan? I feel your thoughts on teasers, I don't think you are wrong. I used to strictly play teasers and was losing more than I was winning. However, I think you can win a good amount of money if you pick your spots and be patient. 5dimes lets you do a 15 game open teaser. I compiled some data for an entire season on wins and losses with the teaser. I think I did it for the 2016 season. I just looked at games where you would win no matter what side you played with that amount of points. It hit 75%, and that was just betting it blind. If you throw capping the right side into the mix, that number would have to go up. You can check it out here, if you want, its pretty interesting.

I hit a 15 game at 13 points, which paid +875. picked my spots and did it in 6 weeks. Back to your point, I tried doing it again and got into trouble, giving most of it back. I was rushing it. I was down to my last $5,000 last year and said F it, started a 15 game teaser at 12.5 points, which paid out +1100.I started at the beginning of the season and hit my last game with pats at I think +3.5 against the jags in last years playoffs. Stupid I know. I almost had a heart attack that game. It was crazy. I have the 5dimes teaser promotion so those that do not might see the odds a little less. After that madness, I'm done with playing teasers on the regular, however I am going to start a 12.5 open teaser at 15 games on the side and just pick my spots. I'll probably throw like $1500 on it for a nice payout. If it takes me up until the superbowl, so be it. The rule is I have to get at least 2 TD's to make a play. Other than that, I agree with you. Forget the teasers.
