Good lord I got smacked with the Wild Card round. Killing the Association though, so it's all good. Let's see if I can do better this week.
YTD: 1-10 (-13.6 units)
ATS: 0-4 (-8.8 units)
Totals: 1-3 (-1.3 units)
Teasers: 0-1 (-2 units)
Parlays: 0-2 (-1.5 units)
This year I've been the absolute worst NFL capper on Covers. But I'm probably the best in the NBA. The funny thing is football is the sport I know most about. Ah well, let's kick some ass this weekend.
Saints +8 (3 units)
Rematch of the MNF beatdown 1 month ago. Weather reports show that it's going to be windy and rainy. That favours Seattle. The Seahawks will also have Percy Harvin in the lineup for this game. The Saints have a chip on their shoulder to disprove the notion that they cannot win outdoors in inclement weather conditions. They did it with a gutsy win over Philly last week and here in Seattle I like them to keep things close. I highly doubt Seattle blows them out again. It's quite possible that it comes down to a FG.
Colts +7.5 (2 units)
Bought the hook for this one. The Pats without Gronk haven't really shown an ability to blow teams out this season. I think the Colts will keep this one close in this rainy game. The Pats are a grind it out kind of team this year. I think we're looking at a 24-20 kind of game. Look for the Colts to play much better defense than what we saw against Kansas City.
Panthers PK (2 units)
Everyone and their mother is picking the 49ers this week. Carolina has been absolutely dominant at home and this is going to be a very physical football game. I picked the Panthers to win the Super Bowl before the year started and I think they are going to be very difficult to beat. This one is coming down to a last minute FG and I think Carolina wins 20-17.
Chargers +8.5 (3 units)
This line keeps crashing down. Ryan Mathews missed Friday's practice but he's going to play. San Diego has turned their defense around and have played some excellent ball-control football. I look for the Chargers to execute long drives and keep this one close. It's weird but this Chargers team has a Cardinals feel to it the year Arizona went to the Super Bowl. OC Ken Whisenhunt was the coach of that team. They went something like 9-7 that year.
