1976, when Lou Holtz quit. He inherited a team that went 2-14 under
Adam Gase in 2020. The Jets drafted quarterback Zach Wilson with
the No. 2 overall pick in 2021 and only went south. Their two wins
his season have come against the Titans and Patriots. Meanwhile,
red fl ags are fl ying in Buffalo, where the Bills ride a two-game losing
streak after opening the season on a 3-game winning note. Not
because they’ve dropped two games on the road, but they have been
out-yarded by more than 100 more yards in three of their last four
games. Adding to the problem, this is a third straight road game for
Buffy, a role in which they are just 3-6 ATS late. And compounding the
mess is that Josh Allen completed just 9-of-30 passes for 131 yards in
last week’s loss at Houston – and 49 of those came on a TD strike to
WR Keon Coleman. Heck, Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow combined
for 9 TD passes in last week’s slugfest in Cincinnati. Thus, the question
begs: is there enough talent surrounding Allen today? It doesn’t
appear so. At just 2-3 this season, the Jets return home with no rest
after dining on fi sh and chips in London, knowing that NFL teams
returning from games in Europe are 14-5 outright but just 10-9 ATS
since the inception of the International Series, including 5-1 SUATS
when they sport a losing record. Food for thought: With the 2-3 Jets
off a loss and the 2-3 Giants off a win, does it mean Aaron Rodgers
is now the second-best quarterback in the Big Apple? With the game
a battle for the top spot in the AFC East, look for the gassed-out Jets
to fall to 2-7 SUATS as a single-digit division home dog tonight. Food
for thought: If the Bills lose this tiff, is Sean McDermott the next head
