YTD (NFL): 0-0 ATS
Hope everyone had a great offseason. I personally didn't do as well as in previous years as I was pretty bad at NBA (to the point I just stopped posting) and that's usually one of my best sports. I also slipped on the Euro 2024 Championship which is another of my best sports. So now I am back for another winning season in what IS my best sport to post, the NFL.
I want to be very transparent. I keep a record, of course I'm human, so if there is an error in the record just try to mention it as I go ack and adjust. Games are sometimes tough being on PST so this year I will opt to post the European based games the night before as I'm on PST and there is no way I am waking at 5am to post on a football Sunday. Lastly, all BIG PLAYS will count double for wins or double for losses on the record. They will also be posted on their own within the record so everyone can decide what they want to do.
Lastly, and most importantly, please do your own research. We all get very hot and very cold and I feel with so many people posting it's sometimes hard to know who to tail or follow. But if you research on your own at least you can feel comfortable that you put your own money on something you also wanted to wager on. I realize it's tougher sometimes to do that but just throwing it out there.
Tonights game pits my beloved RAVENS against the champion Chiefs, albeit in Kansas City. This will be a tall task for the Ravens to win on the road but they have done it before. Both teams return a bevy of players from last year and, even more importantly, the coaching staffs, so much will be the same with regards to game scripts. The Ravens did NOT spend money on Derrick Henry to just throw the ball and I think the rely even more on his aging legs especially in the red zone.
On the flip side, I feel as though Kansas City will want to run more this year and their defense is legit so I can see them really trying to keep Lamar and the Ravens offense off the field. The Ravens have had problems with Kelce in the past but I think the cornerbacks can cover the KC receivers and eliminate the long play. But they also seem to have issues with scrambling QB's as good as their linebackers are.
Both teams have been very good coming out of the gate but the Ravens have NOT been that great against KC, and much for the reasons above. But with both teams so familiar with one another and a short line, it's hard to go against one or another as both are potential Super Bowl favorites. It's the first game of the season and the Ravens typically play lower scoring games first few weeks. I don't see tonight as being any different.
UNDER 47 (BALTIMORE/KC)
I will be back tomorrow hopefully after a 1-0 start to the season. I tend to really like GB but again short line and game being played abroad yields a lot more unknowns. Will be interesting to see how the Eagles satisfy all the mouths they need to feed; will they run more with Saquon? And for GB, is Love ready to be the QB they think he can be. Lots of that will be answered tomorrow but for now we have tonight and I could not be more excited.
As always, tail or fade, good luck to all...
