Looks like I got bad information on the line movement for the Packers game. That wont happen again, man was I pissed about it. Oh well, got to make sure from now on I double check my sources and re-check again. Sorry to those who tailed the play based on my information.
Anyways...Let's keep it moving, onto tonight.
Lions +3 (7 Units)
I love betting against teams that won as straight up dogs the prior week every now and then when the situation fits. The Lions played a tough Browns squad last week, Most ppl dont or wont understand how decent the Browns are or will be this year. The Lions on the other hand despite having a tumultuous off-season I feel are too good to be counted out, and they always play well against solid competition. They played down to the Browns last week which was expected by me, and this time around I feel they play a solid game and give Baltimore some salty defense.
JAGS +6.5 LARGE (12 units)
If there was such a thing as a POW even for a pre-season game I would call it this game. I know this is one of the those dress re-hearsal games for the Saints and blah blah blah but hey...this team has covered ATS going up against solid teams in the Cardinals and Patriots and now against the Jags with new ownership they will whip the shit out of em right? Meh not so fast, this is a ton of points and I like this kid Gabbert for a ton of reasons, and he will play well tonight. I don't see this game going the way the oddsmakers see it going and I see Jax hanging tough for a cover if not a straight up win here.
RAIDERS +4.5 (7 units)
The More I thought about and capped this game the more I see a Cardinals victory but a fail at covering the spread. I see this as a loose game and both teams moving the ball. Oak town is a pass happy offense so far from what I have seen, and the Cardinals cant stop the pass so far. I see Oakland covering the spread here easily, losing the game by 1-3 points tops.
GLTA tonight

Have to disagree with you on the Lions pick. Ravens first game at home Ray Lewis playing, and the Ravens have much better backups then the Lions. Tyrod Taylor and Curtis Painter will move the ball down field all night in the 2nd half. Ravens stacked with talent with backups at WR and RB and their D isnt too shabby either.
Good luck with your other picks but I am all over the Ravens and I got them at -1

It has everything to do with knowing the entire team and all the talented backups that will be playing in this game
did the same thing last week. Took Ravens for game but Falcons 1st Half
How did that work out? I know this team, and I will tell you also to take the Bengals +7 vs the Ravens week 1 because AFC division game and Bengals always play Ravens tough so you know I am not a homer, I just know my team.

Has nothing to do with being a homer.

Here is my thread with LOGIC not just a fan betting his team:
Ravens-1
Huge play for me. When looking at preseason I look at 2nd and 3rd string. QB-
Tyrod Taylor and Curtis Painter are 2 very good backup QB's. Painter
started in this league and back with his old coach now in Baltimore
fighting for a roster spot going against back ups. Should be able to
move the ball
RB- Ravens have 2 RB's two years in the system
Allen and Berry and Pierce (3rd round pick this year) is playing
tonight. Factor in the surprise Rainey and thats a great group of RB's
tonight
OL- Youth backups mixed in with some vets trying to make the team
WR-
6th round pick Streeter is in jepoardy of not making team because they
are so deep at WR this year. They will carry 6 on active roster and he
still might not make which shows you the talent there.
The
Defense is showing a lot of youth and LB's stepping up left and right.
Carr is fighting hard and we get to see Upshaw tonight in his first
game.
CB- probably most talented spot and the backups we signed are really impressing in camp and last week on the field in Atlanta.
Ravens
were able to put up 24 straight points on the Falcons last week with
their back ups and I see more of the same tonight. Factor in the Ravens
at home and Ray Lewis playing this game (sat out last week) I see Ravens
winning this by 10
Good Luck all.

I respect your write up champ......But I don't have the same sentiments as you do regarding Curtis Painter, The guys is lucky he's not cleaning the stalls in the locker rooms of any NFL team let alone be a back-up for the Ravens....I mean did u watch this guy play last year? With that much time spent under Peyton Manning he should have had a better year than he had. The guy's worthless and IMHO he will be bagging groceries at your local Market within the next year or two

yeah I watched him play vs STARTERS. did you watch him play last week vs backups??? 7 for 14 76 yards and 3 TD passes
I am not saying Painter is good as a starter, I am saying he should have no problem carving up 3rd string Defensive guys.
Tyrod Taylor is the Ravens back up Last week: 8 for 17 64 yards and 51 yards on the ground running.
Browns D (from you saying they are good) is good. They ranked in the top 5 but the reserves suck and the Lions only put up 3 points on them.
With both teams starters playing about a half, you have to look at whole game and rank the reserves vs the reserves.
I again would probably do Lions 1st Half and Ravens Game. I would take Curtis Painter as my THIRD STRING anytime. A guy with that much playing experience for a 3rd string QB is pretty damn good. Especially playing against guys on the Lions who WILL be bagging groceries in a few weeks.

If Curtis Painter was playing vs the Lions starters then i would totally be in agreement with you. He does suck, but not vs guys who are probably not going to make a team.
Only concern for the Ravens tonight is at TE. They are thin but they have a second year guy in the system and a decent TE in Wild Billy they picked up from the Rams.
