Arizona's only wins this season have come against 2-8 San Francisco. In both games, the 49ers were using a backup quarterback and Arizona needed five Frisco turnovers to win the first one. Aside from that first Frisco game, Arizona has scored 18 or less points in every contest this year. Yet the spread score for this game now has Arizona winning 23-18 (Arizona -5, total 40.5).

Football players don't like being publicly humiliated. Neither do the coaches. For Oakland to lose here would be the ultimate humiliation.

Oakland tanking? Leave that to the flat earth/scripted games brigade. The Raiders will come to play. It might not be enough to win, but if the line keeps climbing they might not have to win in order to cash.

With all due respect, Doctor, if Gruden had any shame he would have not dismantled this team the way he has. It is a slap in the face to all things Raiders and their fans. "Just Win Baby" has been replaced with "Just Tank Baby!"

The reason Arizona is favored is the defense, I think the view is the Cards defense will be too much for the Raiders and the Cards at home can score against a lousy Raiders defense.

I wouldnt lay chalk on the Cards against anyone but I also would not take the Raiders in any way against most any team.

massive line value on the raiders here. look at both teams respective lines when they played san francisco. based on those thee raiders should be favs. obviously oaklands performances dont warrant that but getting nigh on 6 points they may only need 14 to cover

On the contrary, there can be tremendous line value on bad teams. The example you cited (Detroit in 2008) went 6-2 ATS as a road dog, including 6-0 ATS in their last six. That pesky pointspread changes everything.I&#x27;ve seen some of your previous posts so I know you&#x27;re smart enough to understand that. I&#x27;m not suggesting that Oakland is a lock, but if that line cracks 7 or even 6.5, then the Raiders have a higher than 55% chance of covering.

My initial reaction was to fade Oakland off their upset win, but Baltimore is 1-5 ATS in their last five, and now they&#x27;re laying 10.5 points. With a rookie quarterback in only his second start. Most likely, I will pass on the game.
