How the fuck does a QB lose forward progress when being sacked by a dude who was shot out of a fucking cannon?

How the darn does a QB lose forward progress when being sacked by a dude who was shot out of a friggin cannon?
Because Mariotta was going backwards for like, 15 yds before the ref raised his arm and blew the whistle...well before the ball came loose! Seemed pretty obvious that forward progress was stopped, and the whistle blew to protect the QB.

Probably because the guy was spinning him around like a ballerina multiple times with no chance for anything positive. You think the NFL wants to take that risk on one of their franchise qbs in the league. Forward progress was also stopped. Cmon man, you lost. Own up and quit making excuses like this was rigged.....
KELCE GETTING HURT IS THE ONLY REASON THE TITANS WON. YOU PEOPLE ARE CRAZY WITH YOUR THEORIES. LOOK AT THE STATS, ABSOLUTELY NO OFFENSE ONCE KELCE WENT OUT.

The reason they lost is not kelce. they quit running hunt in the second half, the chiefs have been doing it all year. their coaching is among the worst in the league. they get comfy and decide no more offense and then cant get the ball rolling again.

Chiefs going up 14-0 killed them. Too easy too early is the death knell for A.R. coached teams.

The forward progress call on a clear fumble and clean shot made me sick as well. How is it possible to watch NFL football anymore with a straight face? Game was ruined some time ago, it's worse now.

If any more evidence were need that the league is controlling games from NY then that fumble was is it. They didn't want that fumble so they simply ignored it. It was just so blatant.
The Kelvin Benjamin TD was a sure a catch as you'll ever see, not in the Tom Brady league though.
The reason the catch rule was muddied to the point of incomprehension is so that the NFL can interpret any play just how they want.
All that said, nothing but contempt for Andy Reid, who cannot coach beyond HT and would rather lose than go away from game plan, particulary as he's trying to pass the blame onto Alex Smith who everyone can see is not the problem in KC.
KC = Worst playoff chokers of all time.

it will be 2525 and the sheep of america will still continue debating the legitimacy of these arcade style nfl games
just like that one nfl executive says in the video on camera: ''we sell fantasy not reality ..we sell unpredictability of outcome ''
''reid needs to be fired!''.. i guarantee he's having a pizza and milkshake party with goodell and getting his fat feet massaged as we speak... fired my behind his financial security within the nfl is just fine

Look, I have been a Chiefs fan my whole adult life. As well as a gambler. I didn't pay any attention to football this year, but when I saw the Chiefs as a 9 point favorite against a "down and out" team lucky to even be in the playoffs, there was no doubt where my money would go.
We are talking about the Chiefs here. 1-11 in their last dozen playoff games. Favored in many of those games. It didn't take a genius to figure out they would bend themselves over in the end.

There were many mysteries as there always is and always has been and always will be. For those whining about the mariota fumble though, the refs easily could have and should have blown that play dead and flagged the chiefs for 15 yards for a direct hit to the head of the quarterback, he was in the pocket and he was hit helmet to helmet very clearly, I was incredulous that there was no call there, easy and obvious penalty, the Chiefs not only should have had the ball but been moved half way towards the goal line and they would have gotten a TD instead of a field goal there.
The best part of the fumble whining is that not oner person whining about the mariota play makes any mention of the fact kelce fumbled when he got hurt just moments later, that was a clear fumble as replay showed and the refused to take a look at it, the Titans could do nothing about it as it was inside two minutes, and the titans picked the ball up and ran unimpeded to the end zone. The game was 14-3 then it would have and should have been 14-10 at the half, instead the Chiefs march down and get a TD to end the half. In the second half the Chiefs got the living crap beat out of them on both sides of the line.
The lion and the tiger may be more powerful, but the wolf doesn't perform in the circus.

No comment about the direct helmet hit to Kelce? Easy to troll when you lose a game with fake money

Exactly - Kelce in there are more first downs, time of posession and the KC defense gets a breather.
Both calls the forward fumble and the over the line of scrimmage TD (some dolt in another post said "they didn't even review the play" - welcome to the NFL Noob where EVERY scoring play is reviewed).
It's funny how gamblers get killed on a bet and suddenly the game is fixed.
I concur that for money and ad revenue and merchandise sales that the league would like certain teams in the playoffs and superbowl (they do this already for decades by only picking the big market teams for MNF - sometimes even changing times so that a better matchup gets the SNF slot - the NFL wanting interest and ratings is no secret), so it goes without saying that if there is a call that could totally go either way the officials make the call for the team the leage "leans" towards.
HOWEVER to think that the billion dollar NFL industry is going to risk blatant scripting and game fixing and potentially be relegated to WWF status and losing most of their billion dollar industry just so that Vegas gets a win is the most assinine thing I've ever heard, usually propogated by people who really don't understand how things work in the world. I hope you have a great man cave.
Vegas can always adjust lines and vig and stay on top - VEGAS doesn't want the integrity of the game to go down the toilet causing a 100% chance of losing over half of their NFL revenue.
Think about it morons - there's more money at stake than your snivley, whiney ássed 60 timer and Las Vegas casinos taking it on the chin for a few sporting events, sportbooks comprising about 5% of their revenue.
If you can't afford to lose don't bet or bet smaller. Be a man, suck it up, do better next time. Would James Bond whine like a little pússy about the fix if he lost his bet?

No that also was a penalty....I think you missed the entire point there simpleton. I am not here disputing the orchestrating of events, I am made my thoughts and feelings on that VERY clear many times on this site. I was pointing out exactly what you just did that there were many things that happened, however I was not the one that created thread to whine about it, I know what I am investing in and roll with whatever happens. There were a number of other things as well which was the whole point of my post which you just helped to further albeit through your stupidity. As for my bets I have posted my betting tickets on this site many times through the years. Have you ever done that whoever the fuk you are??

The game wasn’t fixed it was just one of the worst officiated games of all time. The refs are too old and need to be replaced with sharper younger versions of themselves. Both sides could point to obvious egregiously bad calls.
