I was really pulling for the Lions. And I really like MCDC (Moto city Dan C.) Seems like a down to earth guy. A football guy. Got the team to buy in, developed a lot of talent, then pulled a Ron Rivera. Don't riverboat gamble these opportunities away man. They don't come often. Don't be the Chicago Cubs. The loveable losers. Exactly what the Lions have been for years...right?
I was glad to see Brock Purdy get the win. ESPN would have been all over him had he lost. He isn't too bad. He's on a great team, he will make a run for it, has a lot of playmakers and could Joe Flacco his way to a win. Run the game, protect the ball. Pretty simple....right?
How good is the NFC north? Nothing special....right? Cousins is coming back if healthy. Not sure about his supporting cast. The Bears improved at the end of the season. The Packers improved. At least I think and gave San Francisco a run in a playoff game....right? The Lions did the same....right? Then who did the niners beat the last two games. Upstart Packers and the Detroit Lions. A boat load of talent and are tough as nails the Niners are.
Can they beat the Chiefs? The Chiefs defeated the Bills ( with a ton of injuries but on the road ). And of course Baltimore (on the road). John Harbaugh is a really good coach with a lot of talent but Lamar is what he is. ESPN makes him out to be a god. Two time MVP. You know who is another two time MVP? Aaron Rodgers. One Superbowl win. Will Lamar get one? Who knows who cares. That Baltimore team played today with talent but without experience and maturity. It sure showed. Not the Ray Lewis / Ed Reed greatest defense ever Baltimore Ravens of old for sure.
Remember when we used to say.. don't bet against Brady and Belichick? It wasn't that long ago. Think about it. Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid and Steve Spagnuolo are pretty good. They gameplan the best and can adjust at halftime better than anyone. Spagnuolo rushes the passer better than anyone in big games. Pretty bold but pays off....right? I saw Mahomes on the sideline today. It was near the end of the game with Baltimore. It looked like a joking moment but the look on his face said different. He has that "eye of the tiger" look. Deny it or don't. Look at the Chief season if you want. Dropped passes, questionable defense or whatever. Or don't. What you can see and realize is this Kansas City Chiefs team is the next best. The next best dynasty. The ole New England Patriots.
I can't bet against this team. K.C. money line.
I hope I'm not against vanzack or that other guy that comes on once a year. Can't remember his name but he has a good superbowl record.
