It’s
that time again! Here is my brilliant insight for Week 3 of the NFL season:
1:00 pm Games
SD
(+2.5) @ BUF – The Wisdom: I don’t get this line, other than Vegas thinks
that the Bolts are up for a letdown after a big win over Seattle; I don’t buy
it, give me the Super Chargers on the road
DAL
(-1) @ STL – The Wisdom: Dallas’ awful defense will be negated by the fact
that the Rams have no one who can play quarterback above a high school level;
Dallas wins this one in St. Louis
WAS
(+6.5) @ PHI – The Wisdom: I am a huge believer in Kirk Cousins, and I think
he’ll put up some points on a suspect Eagles defense that is coming off a short
week; this will be closer than Vegas thinks
HOU
(+1) @ NYG – The Wisdom: Eli sucks against bad defenses, so I can’t wait to
see how he’ll do against a good one; easy Texans road win
NO
(-10) vs. MIN – The Wisdom: I usually hate double digit spreads, but I
actually love the Saints, at home, against a Vikings team that is without its
one standout offensive player
CIN
(-7) vs. TEN – The Wisdom: The Titans’ lack of a QB was exposed against the
Cowboys of all teams; a great defense like Cincy will keep them at bay just as
well and the Bengals easily cover at home
CLE
(+1.5) vs. BAL – The Wisdom: The Browns played Pittsburgh tough Week 1 and
are coming off a great win over the Saints, and I love them at home in this one
against a very hit or miss Ravens team
DET
(-2.5) vs. GB – The Wisdom: Green Bay’s defense is so horrid that it made
Geno Smith look like a stud; this will be a shootout, but give me the Lions at
home all day (ALL DAY!)
IND
(-7) @ JAX – The Wisdom: The Colts are coming off a short week and a tough
loss, but I still like them to both win and cover on the road against a Jags
team that should have issues fielding a team on the offensive side of the ball
NE
(-14) vs. OAK – The Wisdom: Logic would dictate that this is too big a
spread for a Pats team that is struggling on offense to cover; logic also
dictates that Belichick eats rookie QB’s for breakfast, so I’ll lean in that
direction, and I think the Pats will cover at home against an awful Raiders
squad
