Now that the college season has come to an end and we await bowl and playoffs schedules, degenerates like myself now turn to the other leagues (NFL, CBB, NBA and NHL) as we seek to continue a good college football season. My random NFL thoughts as I look at the games:
Redskins at Giants - I am a Redskins fan. These two historically play tight games so the spread and totals seem about right to me. Skins though got lucky last week as the Falcons were driving to score before an INT in the end zone. I say lucky but my Skins friends says it is our D. Either way if I am betting I would stay away with this as I think it can go either way
Jets at Vikings...so Mike White is the QB going forward for Jets. Minn is -3 here. Now in horse racing (my first love) when we bring a horse back from the farm after a layoff for rest they run really well, a bounce race. Then the 2nd and 3rd time they revert back to their average performance over time. I do think that might be the case here for Mike WHite and perhaps the spread here is perhaps overvaluing his performance last week. I am taking Minny.
Steeler v Falcons...really the Steelers game last week - sheesh, i know they won but it wasn't the prettiest of wins. Falcons lost on a tip ball/INT in endzone v Skins. I think the line properly reflects this game but i am giving a small edge to the Falcons
Packers v Bears....man, i think these two defenses suck and it will be high scoring game. THat's just me. I am taking the OVER.
Jags v Lions - skip...Jags had a nice win at home against Ravens; i feel like Detroit has played most games this year very competitively and very hard. Skip.
Browns v Texans...how many of you want to see Deshaun fail? Go ahead and confess, how many of you? And he comes back against his former team. I mean, like really who schedules this shit. We all know how bad Houston is...to me maybe a low scoring game with Deshaun not as accurate and i think he probably runs more than the throws initially.
Broncos v Ravens - man, I give up on the Ravens. I have no idea which one shows up - the good or the bad ravens. We know the bad Broncos will show up, they do every week.
Titans v Eagles - over under is 44. Some reason I am leaning to the over. Like the Redskins the Titans might try and exploit whatever weakness Eagles have in the run D. Remember Skins beat Eagles by running the ball and obviously Henry is King Henry and can do some damage and then Titans use the play action. I like the over here.
4 pm game I am watching - 49ers v Miami - the over under is 45.5 at the moment. Now to me that is low given Miami's inept defense. I think we see this going up and down the field...yeah, I know SF has a good D but they are going against Miami's strength, Offense. I just think it is up and down affair.
That's it - and don't yell at me if you think differently, just my random thoughts as I try and focus more on these leagues now that CFB regular season has come to an end.
