There is no way in hell that Roger Goddell is going to stand on that podium and hand the Vince Lombardi trophy to the New England Patriots and Tom Brady, zero chance.  But I'll tell you what he will do- he'll make sure Tom and Co. are there to watch him hand it to the winner of the NFC 

Yes folks, the winner of the NFC championship will win the Super Bowl and it will be against the New England Patriots. 

WHo will be the NFC champion? Well that's easy. GREEN BAY. Why? Because nobody gives a rats aasss about a Matt Ryan/Tom Brady super bowl. This super bowl is about the GOAT storyline and Mr Roger Goddell handing the Vince Lombardi trophy to Aaron rOdgers while Tom and Billy watch. 

ratings have slipped, the NFL needs a boost. Sorry folks Matt Ryan doesn't do it .  Brady vs Rodgers will make it the most watched and talked about super bowl of all time.

New England is not a well followed team Nationwide. If you want ratings it will be GB vs Pitt. If you want the passing of the torch it will be GB vs NE.

You're wrong. The four most followed teams nationwide are Dallas , Green Bay, New England and pittsburgh.

People do not like NE just like they don't like the Red Sox. On the East they might like NE on the west they do not. GB AND PITT have some of the best followings in the NFL.

I think for ratings it's 100% Green Bay getting in. If Atlanta gets in then we are in for a snooze fest. Knowing Green Bay would be in all ready gets me super excited to plan my day for the big game, but I'm sorry if Atlanta gets in I'll plan the day before probably... No disrespect to the Atalanta falcons, but let's be real here... I think anyone could agree. I mean it doesn't mean it will happen, but it would sure get my attention...

if the NFL playoffs were as fixed as some people on this forum believe them to be, wouldn't the first 6 games of the Wild Card and Divisional rounds have been much closer contests? assuming close games = more ratings/$.

more importantly, wouldn't the league have found a way to get the cowboys into the superbowl. they have been the meal ticket all season, and been the rigged favourite. But them folks are silent right now

I want to see Sanu go up against Mc Courty,Ryan,and Harmon.

I would remind all that I was the leading advocate for starting Savage last week,as he practiced against the three db's for three years at Rutgers.So what happened?Mc Courty and Ryan made big interceptions to save New England for an incredible upset.

It's amusing that some people feel that these playoff games are somehow rigged. The theory that I've heard most often is that it would make the league, owner's and advertisers more $$ to have certain teams progress.

The issue is that the amounts of $$ are too great for any of it to be fixed. There are millions of eyeballs on the games, and a ridiculous amount of people and incomes that depend upon it. Everyone that is involved in the league has an interest and if they even so much as suspect that it is costing their family a dime, it would be fought tooth and nail.

Smaller amounts of $$ losses could be bought off, shooshed or just swept under the rug for the integrity of the game..ie female tennis, small time NCAA basketball, 4th tier soccer, etc. But the NFL playoffs...come on man!

The sports bribery Act of 1964 which was passed to protect the "integrity" of the game from mafia and gambling interest. It readers: "whoever carries into effect, attempts to carry into effect, or conspires with any other person to carry into effect any scheme in commerce to influence, in any way, by bribery any sporting contest, with knowledge that the purpose of the scheme is to influence by bribery that contest, shall be fined under this title, or be imprisoned not more than five years, or both"


The key word in this act is bribery. If the league instructs one of its employees - an official coach or athlete to influence or manipulate the outcome, it in not breaking the law. 

No one has ever been arrested for violating the sports bribery act in relation to a professional sporting event-ever

Lol. Dude,  if I was 100% right I wouldn't be sitting here exchanging covers posts with you.  It's gambling,  There's a VERY good chance I'm dead wrong with everything I said.  I probably am. It's a theory to start discussion...But I'm still hammering Green Bay.  And to be honest I'm still on fence on who to bet in the AFC Championship.
