The O/U is 53.5 and I think it's a good time to jump on it. The pats are playing a lot of base 4-3 defense. It's great for the run stop but the middle of the field is more open for the likes of gates to dominate. Pats employed a lot of bump and press coverages against the dolphins. Marshall did a good job breaking off Mccourty but Henne missed on some deep throws down the field. Rivers will make them pay pressing against jackson and floyd. If the pats want to play some dime and nickel packages, Mike tolbert could have a big game and also opening up the play-action.
Pats will score on most teams this season. I think they might try to throw off San Diego at first by pounding the ball more and eventually get into the no huddle offense which was very effective. Pats always have a well conditioned team so it works out well. SD will do ok covering welker and branch...but the tight ends and woodhead will give them a lot of trouble. Takeo Spikes has no chance in coverage. Brady will take some deep shots to ochocinco to keep the defense from loading the short zone.
I like the points San Diego is getting here. If they don't screw up on special teams this will be a very close game...There's a decent chance SD can come into New England and win outright. I'm still going with my home team New England in a close game, but not to cover the spread.

I agree. The Chargers have enough fire power to stay with the Patriots and their defense was impressive against McNabb holding him to 39 yards passing last week. I believe the Pats will definitely use the run to setup play action against the Chargers. Chargers will definitely open up the pass game seeing as how Henne threw for400+ yards on them. Norv will be looking to take advantage. A key thing will be if Tolbert is healthy to play. He looks to be Norv's go to target for goaline rushing and quick short throws going for 3 TD last week. With Wilfork and Haynesworth plugging the middle, I see most runs going to the outside and Rivers with some quick 3 step drop throws to avoid getting clobbered. Vikings played a lot of 2 deep safety and Rivers was perfectly fine dumping pass off short spreading the ball around to all receivers. Gates looked healthy as well. If the Chargers can stop the TE's from catching the balls, I see them winning outright.

I like Chargers getting this many points. They don't get any love from vegas cause of their usual poor start off the gate. With an offense like SD, they will always be in the game...esp., against a Pats D that is soft.

SD will not win this game outright. Maybe cover but will not win! SD is notorious for starting slow and traveling to East coast to play Brady @ home which they haven't lost in 28 straight games in the reg season.
my .02 cents. even though it may be bias. i'm leaning towards the over.
