Seattle and why

Let's look at some numbers and discuss:

The numbers above represent   Rsh off rank, pass rank, def. rsh rnk, def. pass rnk sagarin rank, sagarin sched strength rnk. Numbers in ( ) represent a composite of sagarin totals -lower the better.    

As you can see Sea is better in 5 categories.  Atl is better only in passing off. rank.  This is what I call a 5/1 situation.   In every situation you must consider the opening line - Atl opened as a  3 pt fav.  currently hovering around 3 - 2.5.  You also want to consider what history has shown.  If this was a regular season game - i'd be all over atl.  However, this is the play offs so you have to look at what occurs during the playoffs - more often than not - the cream rises to the top.  Here some games with from previous playoffs with similar patterns and lines:

THIS IS A GOOD DEBATE: SO U KIND OF SAY YOU DONT TRUST WILSON AND YOU TRUST RYAN WHO HAS 0 PLAYOFF WINS. HAWKS WILL BE ABLE TO STOP ATL RUN GAME AS YOU SAW WITH NO RG3 WASH WENT DOWN HILL FAST. SO NOW ITS ON RYAN WHO HAS SHOWN HE CAN NOT GET IT DONE IN THE PLAYOFFS. SORRY I THINK WILSON CREATES WAY MORE PROBLEMS FOR ATL D THAN RYAN DOES FOR SEATTLES D. ATL STRUGLED WITH CAM AND JOSH FREEMAN SO I DONT THINK THAT IS GOING TO CHANGE TODAY. KEY FACTOR IS SEATTLES D IS MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN CAR AND TB..

Otownkeg - I figure the loudness factor, rookie qb, injuries, etc - is already factored in to the line. That's why I don't get hung up on those things.  I simply look at numbers and patterns.  Sea. has played a tougher schedule and there def. is better in both areas.

ysalee87 - I use to think certain things were meant to be or you get a signal - but I stick to my numbers and percentage wise I do okay - I think the question that matt ryan faces - can he step up against a tough defense and teams that have played a stronger schedule.  I'm taking Houston and the points but be careful in that game - it's a small play for me.  Sea is my big play.
