The numbers above represent Rsh off rank, pass rank, def. rsh rnk, def. pass rnk sagarin rank, sagarin sched strength rnk. Numbers in ( ) represent a composite of sagarin totals -lower the better.
As you can see Sea is better in 5 categories. Atl is better only in passing off. rank. This is what I call a 5/1 situation. In every situation you must consider the opening line - Atl opened as a 3 pt fav. currently hovering around 3 - 2.5. You also want to consider what history has shown. If this was a regular season game - i'd be all over atl. However, this is the play offs so you have to look at what occurs during the playoffs - more often than not - the cream rises to the top. Here some games with from previous playoffs with similar patterns and lines:
Balt 5 13 2009
3 Tenn 1 10
Balt won 13 to 10.
Nyj 5 10
3 Ind 1 6 jets won 10 to 6.
Take the points or do what I did and take sea on the m/l. good luck all.

You also need to factor in Home Field Advantage and a very loud Georgia Dome let alone a Rookie QB (Im not bashing, but he has no experience except a WASH win with an injured RGIII and that was the redskins no comparison to ATL). ATL is very hungry for a win in the Playoffs. Sure Seattle could win this game and this definitely isn't a game that you should put a lot of money on but I think you have to take ATL @ Home today.
Good Luck this should be a great game but I don't think it will top the Ravens game yesterday.

THIS IS A GOOD DEBATE: SO U KIND OF SAY YOU DONT TRUST WILSON AND YOU TRUST RYAN WHO HAS 0 PLAYOFF WINS. HAWKS WILL BE ABLE TO STOP ATL RUN GAME AS YOU SAW WITH NO RG3 WASH WENT DOWN HILL FAST. SO NOW ITS ON RYAN WHO HAS SHOWN HE CAN NOT GET IT DONE IN THE PLAYOFFS. SORRY I THINK WILSON CREATES WAY MORE PROBLEMS FOR ATL D THAN RYAN DOES FOR SEATTLES D. ATL STRUGLED WITH CAM AND JOSH FREEMAN SO I DONT THINK THAT IS GOING TO CHANGE TODAY. KEY FACTOR IS SEATTLES D IS MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN CAR AND TB..

Love Ur cbb picks buddah. But I have to disagree here. This game is bigger than the numbers. This game is matt Ryan finally stepping up..with the pack losing..its Matt ices chance to go to the big bowl. Bol today..who do u like in the late game..I like Texans plus pts.

Otownkeg - I figure the loudness factor, rookie qb, injuries, etc - is already factored in to the line. That's why I don't get hung up on those things. I simply look at numbers and patterns. Sea. has played a tougher schedule and there def. is better in both areas.
ysalee87 - I use to think certain things were meant to be or you get a signal - but I stick to my numbers and percentage wise I do okay - I think the question that matt ryan faces - can he step up against a tough defense and teams that have played a stronger schedule. I'm taking Houston and the points but be careful in that game - it's a small play for me. Sea is my big play.
Biscuit - no problem.
To all the well wishers thanks - should be a good game.

It's just a personal handicap I use in my experience is I never put money on a rookie qb or QB with no experience on this stage. Also goes for any backup QB. I am not sold on SEA offense. Sure they scored 150 in 3 games but ATL doesn't have too shabby of defense. Atlanta has too much offensive weapons which keeps the SEA defense guessing all day. Those games earlier in the year against Carolina and Tampa were regular season games and they didn't show up but you know they will be feeding off the crowd and focused. Any who .. Well see what happens when the game is over.
