He had a bad call not managing the clock at the end of the first half with 40 seconds left when he didn't call a time out and then he needed more clock later. And the at the end of the second half, it was 3rd and 10 and he went for the long bomb home run pass which was incomplete and probably he should have done two plays for 5 yds each for first down, Costly calls from Shanahan.

I don't think the end of the 1st half was bad. Certainly on the conservative side. Best case scenario for him is he has 2 time out on his own 20 yard line with 1:40 left. If they go 3 and out, he ends up giving the Chiefs ball back near midfield with 1:20 left and might be down before half. They start with the ball in 2nd half.
The bomb was high risk, high reward. They generally had highly aggressive playcalling until the 4th quarter, but very conservative situationally. Up 3 at midfield with like 5 minutes left, I would have just gone for it on 4th down, instead they punt and Chiefs get go ahead TD 24-20. I would agree with you that the bomb on 3rd down might not be best and would have been better on say 1st down. Once you get to 3rd down, your priority should be 1st down.

I think what happened both times is he outsmarted himself..
Sometimes when you have everything going your way, you can't see the obvious. Run the ball, and short passes. Your d is getting gassed, you have the lead, shorten the game. Any idiot on the face of the earth can see that...but when you're trying to get CUTE, you lose.

I do think he outsmarted himself in the Falcons game, but to me it looked like the Niners kinda freaked themselves out. They all looked at the scoreboard and forgot there was still almost a quarter left. If anything, I didn't think they were aggressive enough to just finish off the game. It didn't help that literally the entire team found a bad time to be unclutch. Mostert forgets to block, Jimmy completely forgetting Kittle, where were the Samual's end arounds that did great in 1st quarter, missed tackles, forget D assignment.

Since this team and the Falcons both became so unclutch at the wrong time you have to wonder if it's about the way he's training them

People on here are just dumb af... KC ranks 24th in run defense yet they ran the ball just 22 times... The Vikings rank 13th in run defense yet they ran the ball 47 times... GB ranked 21st in run defense yet they ran the ball 42 times... So my question is, how come against the worst run defense they played in the playoffs, they ran the ball just 22 times.. Even regarding the Titans, they run the ball a ton vs the Ravens and Pats who have top tier run defenses yet against the Chiefs, they barely run the ball... Hmmmm because that makes sense.. These games are scripted... WAKE UP!!

Would point out that if the games were scripted, the Niners would win. Think of the publicity, NFL would be talked about for weeks. Millions of dollars:
Jimmy G with the Patriots/Brady angle. Jimmy G once dated a porn actress. Jimmy G is a pretty handsome dude.
Comeback story. Shanahan wins after the Falcons/Pats debacle.
Niners back on top. Countless Montana/Young cameos.
Vegas wins huge with a Niners/under game
Sowers would be the first woman coach/coordinator to win a Super Bowl. What? And she's a lesbian on top of that. Interviews/tv for the next 4 months.
Trump would have to congratulate Pelosi, San Fran, and California in the middle of impeachment and DNC Caucas. The trifecta!
By Chiefs winning, there's really only 3 angles:
Andy Reid finally winning.
Mahomes.
Chiefs last won 50 years ago.

The bomb to Hill was really dumb. It was 3rd and 15. Niners stop that 1st down. Game is likely over. If you watch the replay, the entire secondary literally forgot their entire assignment.
Sometimes, the toughest thing can be just to do what you're are supposed to do. I don't think the Chiefs are a better team, but they do have the killer mentality, and realized in the moment better. Which is why everyone knows Mahomes is really special and fantastic. We've only been talking about it for a week with Kobe.

Shannahan and Garrapolo are a gauranteed losing proposition together--if they ever get back to the SB, (doubtfull) theres no chance of winning with those two
