Just like the Eagles losing the super bowl last season and the Bengals losing the super bowl before that season.
@PepeFrog
Agreed.
Devastating OT loss. Expecting regression from 9ers imo.
That roster should start to regress a little bit as well as they age...interested to see how good Purdy is next year

Good post.
I've said this before in other threads...
The Niners have given up too much stock for Trey Lance, Christian McCaffrey, and Chase Young.
Their depth is running thin, and it won't get better any time soon.
Deebo is such a catalyst for their offense, and he is perpetually hurt.
Trent Williams is considered the best LT in the NFL. He just had the worst game of his career, and will be 36 years old in July.
Their GM and HC better pull off some magic to bolster their depth, or else an inevitable downturn is just around the corner.
Like one poster above said, look no further than the Eagles the last 2 years. When they jettisoned a bunch of good players along with both coordinators after the SB, no one was concerned?

Firing DC Steve Wilks may come back to haunt SF. The 2023 PHL team regressed drastically when the OC and DC both left.
KC was very fortunate when Spagnuolo chose to remain in KC. Maybe we will see the first ever threepeat in the Super Bowl era.

Yeah bro literally everyone in this forum already knows about the super loser hangover (usually they suck ATS next year tho Philly actually was good in the 1st half this year and Bengals 2nd half last year)
Vegas doesn't need to 'trick' anyone with odds on SB futures. Those bets are typically done by recreational bettors in small amounts, like people betting on their home team. Most professional bettors that bet large arent bothered with futures as a) they don't want significant chunks of their bankroll tied up for long periods and b) injuries can scupper those bets and football is the most violent game. Guys can even get season enders in training camp. If a pro is going to bet a future at all they're likely to do so on long shots that have lots of value, and again for only small amounts.
5/1 seems fair enough. The only reason they are that short, and favored over KC who just beat them, is that the NFC is not particularly strong. barring injuries they should be in a good position to win the NFC again while the AFC is a good bit more wide open.
Of course, I still wouldn't bet on them to win the SB because Kyle Shanahan is, to use a poker term, the perpetual 'bubble boy' of the NFL. When the chips are down he always makes the wrong call.
I actually think KC WILL three-peat. Because until Mahomes gets 6 rings and can surpass Brady what else could be a super amazing thing to keep the public enthralled besides something that's never been done before? And despite the AFC seeming to have more good teams, all those good teams have major flaws like moron QBs who can't get over the hump (Balt and Buff). I like Stroud and Houston's trajectory but they did get exposed pretty bad by Baltimore and I don't think he would have a good day vs Spags and that D in a playoff game.

SF will still be a very good team next year but we've already seen improvement by contenders like GB and Det. Philly could return to greatness. Rams can improve.
Dallas.....will still be Dallas with McCarthy and wont pose a threat. Vikings will be the Vikings as well. The Bears could surprise depending on how things go with them the next few months.
there seem to be many more hurdles for KC to get back to the SB than SF will have, but agree it will be tough for the Niners to get back after barely making it there this season
