How do you not call a run play on first down when the Chiefs have ALL 3 timeouts left. Make the Chiefs show their cards, see if they use a timeout, all while maybe gaining a couple yards.

Exactly. A good coach/oc would call a run or a screen on the first play. Get the clock moving and base the next play on the result of the first one. 10 yard gain- possibility of getting points. 1 yard gain- let the clock run and try another safe play. If it doesn’t work you run the clock out. It’s that simple.
