I have just got to say this, maybe I am just getting old and finicky.
Everyone, from what I have read, like Ben Solak of ESPN is convinced that the Jets bringing in Devante Adams is their ticket to a Super Bowl! Has everybody lost their mind but me? Or am I the only one who lost his mind? If you think bringing in Devante Adams to the NY Jets equals a Superbowl, your out of your mind.
The NY Jets are a bad football team plain and simple. Their execution is horrid. Everything from the Offensive line to the much talked about Defense. Just on defense alone in the last two games there has been at least 6 pass interference calls. In one game, three where caused by there star "Sauce" who ever.
Then we get to the O.C issues, I don't care what anybody says, the O.C should not be in the NFL period. The first game without him they lost, but THE play calling improved BY a 1000% but the Jets lost that game because of penalties, poor blocking execution and bad defensive execution. Devante Adams is a great player no doubt, but he can't fix all that. Rogers can't pass laying on his back!
Here is some hard truth for Ben at ESPN and the rest of you dreamers, Rodgers and Adams played together for 7 years with NO SUPERBOWL! The Packers had plenty of receivers with that duo and still no Superbowl.
Then there is Rogers himself, who is a self centered human. He proved that by going to Egypt instead of mandatory Mini Camps this year. What kind of message does that send to the younger "very good" players? What does that say to the O.T who gets paid a 1/10 of what Rodgers gets to protect his a**? I bet that O.T would block just a little better for a guy who was there sweating it out in mini camp with him, then a guy who thought he was to good to bother coming! Rodgers absence has bought him no respect.Shannon Sharpe eluded to what I am saying a couple days ago, and Devante can't fix that either.
With or without Adams makes no difference, the only answer for the Jets football team is to get in the film room and fix the mistakes. Forget about the damn super bowl and just figure how to get first downs. This team has a lot of work to do before they can even win a football game, let alone a Super Bowl.
It hope it works out for the Jets fans, hopefully the new play caller keeps up what he did last game and they get some momentum going.
Just some random thoughts
