Truthfully I could cut this write-up back to two words and you would likely understand exactly where I´m coming from here. Those two words are: Norv Turner. As you know, that man is the head coach of the Chargers and that man is the reason the Chargers haven't done more this season with the talent they have. Yes, San Diego did finish up the season strong. However, look who they played in that stretch run! The only solid team they played in that stretch was Tennessee. Yes, the Chargers did beat Tennessee but the Titans blew a 17-3 fourth quarter lead as San Diego went onto win in OT. That is not likely to happen again but the beauty here is that if it did happen I'd still be a winner as I´m getting double digits for points in this one!
I´m well aware of the fact that the Titans have some injury issues coming into this game. However, I also know that one of the most critcal ones appears to be resolved as DE Albert Haynesworth is back for this game. He is a monster and if you don't believe me just look at the Titans numbers against the run when he's in there versus when he's not! This guy plays a key role in a Titans defense that is very solid and is not getting enough respect with this inflated pointspread. As noted above, the Chargers did look strong late in the season but the only tough team they faced in their last six games was Tennessee and that was a bit of a "miracle win". The other five wins for the Chargers came against teams that finished with a combined record of 27-53 this season.
All of the sudden the Chargers late season run doesn't look so impressive does it? The biggest key of all is that I'll take Coach Jeff Fisher over Coach Norv Turner any place, any time, and with any injury situations. This is especially true when the books are offering me ten or more points...what a deal! After opening up at a 7, the big money coming in on San Diego has driven this line as high as an 11 during the week. Count me in on grabbing the extra line value being offered here
