why not just take the spread for a guaranteed win??

The "Key Player" angle usually works for a team who's lost a teammate due to injury. This is not the case with the Texans, Cooks is out due to being butt hurt for not being traded. Who's going to step up for the Texans knowing that Cooks is healthy and able to play right along with them? Cooks is supposed to be a leader but his actions don't reflect it. Collins also being out minimizes their already abysmal air attack which depletes their chances of winning.
Now a Texans cover is possible. They do have multiple TE's to throw too which I believe will be a large part of the Texans game plan. I would say RB Pierce could possibly have a good game too, but that would depend on the Eagles defense. Are the Eagles amped up to play a 1-5-1 Texans team knowing they have a divisional opponent coming up next week? Could they give up a backdoor cover?
Texans gave up 314 rushing yards this past Sunday, 200+ to Derrick Henry, which is embarrassing to a Lovie Smith defense. This was a short week to prepare but I expect the Texans to tidy up their defense and make some plays tonight. The defense may keep them in the game and that should help them cover but a win is not possibly in my eyes.
