By December there are always a few certified 'dumpster fire' teams that are not only losing most of their games but beset by injuries. The Rams certainly fit that description this year and going against them will be profitable as the continue to totally flame out.
The fact they hung around with Seattle enough to cover isn't bothering me at all because the Rams and Seahawks tend to play close games traditionally. And still, the Rams were never looking like they would turn the tide.
Home field doesn't matter the Rams have stunk everywhere they played. The Raiders have plenty of LA fans and will have the ability to stay on the field and stay in front of the Rams for this one, to try and continue their late push for a playoff spot, which I think will probably come up short but that is more likely to happen in the last 2 games as they play SF and KC.
They have LAR, NE, Pitt next up. They need to win this game and then beat NE after their mini bye to get to .500 and then they at least have a chance at it. If they lose this game forget it.
When your season is on the line you don't want to be playing the SB champs on the road on a short week usually.
But in this case it's a dream because how bad and banged up the Rams are. It's all they need. With NE up next, Jets playing Bills on the road, they can move into contention by winning the next too as those two teams are 6-6 and 7-5 and the goal is to move ahead of them. And you need to get to 7 wins in the next two games to do that. Getting hot at the right time even if it ends up being too little too late this game won't be the reason they miss the playoffs, it will hinge on the 9ers and KC games as Vegas will 'make it interesting' for a little while down the stretch. They have a much better run game and more balanced offense than the Rams who are also regressing on defense a lot this year.
