“Jameis does pro stuff — throwing guys open, anticipating, manipulating
the pocket, Plan B and Plan C throws,” Dilfer added. “You name it,
Jameis does it. Marcus is a guy who’s incredibly good in a system that
has total supremacy over everybody they play.”

listening to Trent Dilfer is like me telling the covers forum that Scalabrine loves writing novels or John Madden telling his audience that if a receiver drops the ball it's an incomplete pass.
He's captain fukking obvious who also happens to be the biggest blowhard on television behind Mark May. He makes my ears hurt.

Majority of analysts think JW is MO. Not saying JW will succeed but MO look shaky last nite. Given struggle of running QB (Kap/RG3/etc), teams will be eerie of system QB as that's what MO look like right now.

Lofting skyballs over slow college defenses is not what makes for success in the NFL.
I'd be shocked if either of the two sticks.
HAVE TO AGREE
MARIOTA IS A SYSTEM QB BUT IS ALITTLE FRAGILE TO ME. BUT GOOD THING GOING FOR HIM IS HE HAS A GOOD HEAD ON HIS SHOULDER,
AS FOR WINSTON, I QUESTION IS HEAD BUT HE DOES HAVE THE PHYSICAL SKILLS FOR THE NEXT LEVEL.
TIME WILL TELL...........
AS FOR DILFER, HE IS PROBABLY THE LUCKIEST QB IN NFL HISTORY TO WIN A SUPERBOWL. HE WAS MEDIOCRE AT BEST. DEFENSE, RAY LEWIS BABY........LOL, WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP...........

Yea just like Brady who hasn't won anything since the patriots won those SB with defense . The only difference between Brady and Dilfer is Brady has the chance every year being in the non competitive division every year

I think Winston is better than Mariota. The problem is when you take Winston you get him on the field as well as OFF THE FIELD. And he may or may not be guilty of rape but as of today he's guilty of being an idiot
If you take Mariota #1 you know he's going to work hard and do what needs to be done. You don't know that about Jameis. Is he going to work or is he Manziel 2.0?
If i could have Winston on the field and Mariota off the field i have a 15 yr franchise qb.
If you want me to guess i think TB takes Mariota because he's safer. And i can't fault them for it

Winston will be a complete bust as an NFL QB he's not a running QB as a pure passer he's not that good
Winston had 25 TD'S and 18 INT'S in ACC competition that don't cut it Winston will be a usual high draft pick complete bust in the NFL \
i wouldn't want this guy on my team forget about the off field stuff on a talent level basis , he's not good enough

Mariota looked bad?? Really... Please explain how wide open receivers dropping passes makes you look bad. How about receivers who have trouble running routes, getting off blocks, unable to create space in routes, or simply being out of sync with timing makes him look bad. It's obvious that Winston is more NFL ready at the moment he does play in a more traditional NFL style offense. But everybody starts somewhere, Mariota is terrible all the sudden bc of the system he was brought into?

Winston is the superior prospect no doubt. For the person who said you don't know if Jameis will work hard. His work ethic is something both coaches and teammates have raved about. Watching him play he understands the weaknesses in defense. I think that demonstrates what he learned from the film room.
The interceptions against acc competition is another argument i'm not buying. Both Dan Marino and Matt Ryan threw a high number of picks their last year in college. Both turned out to be good pro's. You also got to understand that all picks aren't equal. Not everyone is going to be the qb's fault. Go back and watch the tape and you will see somewhere the wr and qb just werent on the same page. It's hard to always tell whose fault but i'm going to guess alot of them were on the freshman. There is also a thing called down and distance. When it's 3-17 Winston is throwing the first down. Yea some of it was over aggressiveness but it's not something you can always fault the qb for.

Dilfer is absolutely right (again, see below). Mariota's mechanics are pretty ugly. He looks like a young Tim Tebow. I'd guess he can toss a shot put but if I'm GM I don't want him playing with my balls on Sunday. Furthermore, I'd have to give Winston the slight edge as greatest QB in college, just a tick ahead of Cardale Jones.

Just wanted to talk about Mariota/Winston not about Dilfer being able or not to talk about certain things
The thing Dtat mentioned was something I saw in the Rose Bowl. Mariota struggled when he wasn't able to execute the designed play. Winston was in a few situations in which he finished a play on a different way. Furthermore I have a different opinion about Winston in that game than many others. I really liked what I saw from him. He led FSU downfield all game long. Take away the fumbles he hadn't any influence in and it would have been a competitive game. Another advantage for Winston: He was put or has put himself in many situations where he had to be clutch and delivered then.

I think you're confusing the two. Winstons mechanics are awful.....he winds up like Tebow & he can't read anything, pre-snap or post-snap. Cardale Jones would be a bust........he got away with a lot of poor throws. He needs a lot more work.
