All praise Allah and the upcoming NFL season! Been counting the minutes to today(and Sunday). I dabble in college and last week was some great football, but it's not the same as Kickoff Sunday in the pros! GL to all this season!
- Tennessee -2.5
- Cincinnati -3 -105
- SF + (waiting on +6)
Later in the week, im gonna pop back with my thoughts on those games, and possibly add another play or two I have my eye on.

To everyone bringing well wishes. Good seeing all u guys, as well.
Quick thoughts on my plays and an addition I made to the card. I was gonna put together a few long writeups, but Week 1.....pointless to spew stats and # from last year when most of that stuff is or will be thrown out the window after a week or two of new season. So quickly:
- Tennessee -2.5. Oakland is a very trendy pick to rise to the top of the AFC after last years season. Exciting young QB, big bruising O-line, skill players galore from Lynch to Coop to the underrated Richard. Thing is, I have a feeling their defense will be as bad as they were last year. They have 2 superstars, and then.....nothing to compliment them and fill in the blanks. Last year it led to lots of shootouts, lots of last minute comebacks, and winning pretty much every close game. Those types of teams in my experience have a tough shot at repeating that. If they lose a few of those close games, if Carr comes up just short in some of those comebacks, you have a 8/9 win type of team.
Tennessee, I love what I see in Mariotta. I think they have a young scrappy defense who is ripe to improve a bunch this bunch this season. Last season, they ended things particularly strong with the exception of one dud(I think it was Jax), and that was all with Matt Cassel at the helm and doing little to help his defense out. I think they can do enough to keep Oakland in check, and I think on the other side, Marriota and company are gonna shred this Oakland defense in front of their home crowd.

I see a lot of people down on the Bengals, and I'm not sure why. They are more or less the same competitive team from the last few years who while not a powerhouse, are a decent squad. Last year the wheels fell off with all their injuries, but with the exception of that idiot Burfict getting suspended, they come into this year with a heathy and complete team. Baltimore on the other side, I have a rule to never ever bet Joe Flacco on the road, as he's just not the same guy. Plus he's been dealing with a back injury and I don't think he practiced at all this preseason until just last week. Possible rust, and if you saw Mallett play this preseason, maybe the Ravens are rushing him back a little quicker than is good. Idk. Maybe all it takes is one good hit on Flacco in the first quarter, and it puts that disk injury into his mind and then the rest of the game, he gets some happy feet and rushes some throws he usually sits in the pocket and takes the hit to complete the pass.
SF +(was waiting on 6, but it's dropped to 4.5). I'm thinking once Cam is 100% on Sunday, and announced to start, it floats up to that 6, but if not I'm happy with anything +4 or higher.
I think Kyle Shanahan was the genius behind Matt Ryan going from an above average QB for all of his career, to an ELITE unstoppable machine the past 1.5 seasons or so. KS takes over the SF job, and I think you are gonna see instant results offensively. Brian Hoyer IMO is an extremely underrated QB in this league, and as a Bears fan, I screamed this offseason watching their organization make EVERY wrong move in free agency and the draft. I believed that healthy and with a couple smart free agent pickups, and a smart draft, they could be a top 5 kind of defense, and with Hoyer/Barkley resigned for cheap, resign Jeffrey, maybe bulk up their O-line with 1st round pick and one FA splurge.....my squad wins the NFC North. Alas, they completely blew it.....but
I'm babbling.....I like Hoyer, I like the possibilities of him with Shanahan. I believe they come out to play and they upset the Panthers on Sunday.

Washington +7.5 and Houston +1. Help my new local does -110 on 6 points and -120 for 7 points. I'm generally a straight bet guy, but I do see value on teasers here and there, especially when not paying through the nose.
Houston is a team im very high on. I believe outside of the QB position, this is the most rounded football team in the league. This being a QB league though, not having a top QB is the difference beyeeen Houston being 9-7 or 10-6 to being a 13-3 powerhouse in a wide open division.
Houston -5 was a play that I eyed down months ago as something I was gonna be on. And while I still like them, a couple things kind of scared me off to where i feel that a teaser and them just having to win presents the better value instead of laying 5. Savage in the preseason hasn't showed me much. He's an obvious upgrade over the stiff they had last year, and I think this kid has the stuff to be a good NFL QB, but game 3 this preseason, I watched closely hoping to see him make some strides and have some confidence beating up what should be the usual subpar Saints defense. Andddd......they got shut out 13-0 with the starters in for 2.5 quarters or so. Not what I wanted to see knowing Jax is bringing a much better D to the table Sunday. The other thing is the Hurricane and all the hoopla it's gonna bring to the season opener at home. In my experience, in spots like this, huge emotional spots,....sometimes these teams ride those emotions and the home crowd to a quick start, and a rout. And sometimes the emotions work against them.....I don't like that uncertainty.
In the end, just having to win, I think their defense keeps Bortles and Foundtte in check, and Savage does JUST enough to walk out of there a winner.
Washington is just a rivalry NFC East thing. Home team catching a TD Plus in an NFC east battle......makes sense to me

- SF(+hopefully 6, but I'll settle for 4 if need be)
- Washington +7.5/Houston +1 teaser
Some other games I leaned hard but ultimately will pass on.
- Seattle +3
- Jets +8/9 ish
- KC +9(took them 1/2 unit as I just couldn't pass on opening night, but nothing I would post as a play; if that was a Sunday game I probably would have passed on it completely)
- Minnesota -3
Good luck to all. Glad to see a lot of the regulars from past years!! Let's all make some money, ay?

agree w the ideas behind the raiders. that D is not improved and you can't rally and pull out close games every time.
only thing with Cincy is that O-line worries me and not sure how they will hold up for the redhead. and the defense is probably the only positive for the Ravens, going into the season. But that Raven O looks inept as hell, especially the current form right now.
