Week #7 Battle Lines Being Drawn

(Superbowl Revenge game but the 49ers' defense is banged up, they might want revenge but they can't get there with a leaky D. The brain trust of Reid, Spagnuolo, and Mahomes is simply too much IMO and off a bye.  Also like the Chiefs picking up Kareem Hunt and Smith Shuster who are two wily veterans.)

NY Jets -2

(The Jets' whole season is in the balance and they are the more desperate team for sure at 2-4. Their offense played better on Monday night against the Bills and showed some life in a losing effort. The Steelers have too many question marks and that O line is missing so many starters including the center.

A rusty Russ now taking over seems like bad timing to me but Tomlin has his reasons which are legit IMO. The Steelers can't beat the elite teams without an aerial attack and he wants to see if RW can provide that component. The Steelers' 4-2 record is deceiving (smoke and mirrors). 

Aside from Denver, this will be the first elite defense that the Steeler offense has faced. The Steeler #2 back Warren looked like he wasn't healed to me last week and not sure if Cordarelle Patterson will play. Plus a lackluster WR corps headed by malcontent Pickens. Too many ifs and buts and candy and nuts for this Steeler team.)

Adding:

Detroit Lions Moneyline +105 
(Lions on a hell of a roll and while I admire Brian Flores and his D schemes, I doubt if they will work versus the high octane offense of motor city.)

Flores' blitz heavy D has faced the 5th, 7th, 17th, 19th and 21st ranked teams in offensive efficiency this season.  

Love/Purdy/Stroud/Jones/Rodgers

Goff is next with their 4th overall offense.  Goff excels versus the blitz so he should be able to hold his own versus this D but Flores funnels passing offenses to the slot and flats, limiting the big plays / high octane offenses explosiveness.   Ben Johnson will be establishing the run first as is usual....could be an Under game here although both games went Over the total last year, with Lions putting up 30 in both.  Little different Vikings D though this time around.  

Lions have covered 7 straight versus Vikes....  Minny 1-0 in Division already and this will be Lions first Division game of the year....Campbell 2-1 ATS in Division openers.  Should be the game of the week next to KC/SF

what is Reid record off a bye? and Patrick off a bye?  it's a good record but I have too much to look into right now

I count 10-2 SU last 12 including playoff byes and Superbowl's going back to 2019 season.  KC is the DOG here so no need for ATS stats

5-1 SU with Mahomes & Reid
