When did Joe Flacco becaome so great all of a sudden?

I find it strange that all of sudden Joe Flacco is playing at such a high level and now considered a great QB compared to the best in the leauge. 

Doesn't everyone remember when he sucked for so long? I remember watching him on primetime not being able to make any plays, just sitting in the pocket like a tool with that classic dumb deer in the headlights look game after game throwing picks and inaccurate balls.

And there I am cursing at the tv why did I back Joe Flacco? 

Remember all the Joe Flacco sucks threads all over this board constantly? Now he is greatness just like that. He has the same players he had last year so it begs the question: why is he all of a sudden so great? 

The only variable I see is the Ravens brought in a new offense coordinator halfway through the year so maybe somehow he got into Flacco's head and flipped a switch..

From Joe Fucco to Joe Flacco what a turnaround this guy has had it is truly baffling and I'm surprised no one else has brought that up. 

His play at qb is the reason the Raven are in the superbowl.

This year flacco had the lowest qb rating in history but now hes some elite qb now. Its the same ole "joe flucco"

I read something that he has the best post seasons stats of any qb right now.

Also he asked for crazy money for his contract next year. He wants the same money as Drew Brees! And coach Harbaugh says "Pay the Man"

So he thinks he is an elite qb now and so does his coach unreal. 

I gues Joe Fucco is getting the Buccos

I didn't follow them too closely this year but it seemed they were much more successful on offense after changing offensive coordinators

And Drew Brees was aweful himself until his last year with the chargers.
I understand the time frame is a lot different but...

2 things with Flacco now

1. Caldwell has made him believe that he's da man. 
2. o line has played and given him protection. when he gets protection he is one of the best. As the o line goes so does Joe.

I think Montana has that, 11 TD 0 int

He has been quoted in the past year(s) calling himself an elite QB.  Nothing new.

Ok, I'll make this quick. Before the last 2 games where he has thrown 8 Tds and 0 INts.

- In 5 seasons, he has thrown 103 TDs, and 56 INTs
- Has been in the playoffs every year
- Had 4 playoff road wins
- Would have 5 playoff road wins, and a superbowl trip if Lee Evans can catch a pass.

He didn't just wake up one day and become great, he has been good his entire career and is finally taking the next step. He has been victimized his playoff career by play calling.

Most elite QBs don't have a run game, so they are given the green light to drop back 40 times a game and get in a rhythm. Brees, Rodgers, Manning, Brady, Marino to name a few. Flacco has always had a good run game, which may seem to be a blessing but it is also a curse. It is tough to get in a rhythm when you run the ball 60% of the time. Flacco's time has arrived and he has a vice grip on it.

Who cares about individual stats! It comes down to playoff wins and winning SB's. Flacco has got a lot of playoff wins and may get his SB.

Eli was considered a disappointment for the no.1 overall draft choice prior to winning the SB.

So was Jim Plunket and Bree's has already mentioned and was Doug Williams with 1 playoff win to show for years in the league prior to lighting up the Broncos for 35 pts in 1 quarter.

It happens...................................................

Flacco was the 12 rated passer this season at 87.7.

Flacco has never had a one and done in the playoffs, has 5 straight years won a playoff game and has 3 AFC Championship game appereances in 5 seasons.

not owned, Billsfan is a cool dude.

Flacco needs to get more love tho, he has always been solid, just victimized by bad play calling in the playoffs and drops and missed kicks.

Joe Flacco wasn't great, and he still isn't.  The problem was the "best D in the league" as you called it.

SF is good against weak offenses only...

a. they got rid of cam cameron, his chuck knox like playcalling absolutely held this team down for a long time. 

b. they inserted bryant mckinney to sure up an offensive line that wasn't very good at times this year. 

c. He has great weapons now. Make no mistake flaccos receivers are amazing. He's got two burners in jones and smith that stretch the field. He's got the best posession receiver in the nfl in boldin. And he has ray rice pierce and pitta. 

That being said i expected much more pressure put on flacco by the niners, but for whatever reason they seemed tentative to blitz, and often when they did he was still able to elude the rush. 

The ravens won this superbowl because of special teams and their offense, and yes because of flacco. I know ray lewis will try to make it about him and that goal line stand, but that was more a product of horrific playcalling by the niners.

He isn't that good if you watch them play they don't really move that ball easily like say the pats he has a cannon and throws deep 50/50 bombs that seem to all go his way this post season

Cam cameron , it  really is that simple. I still don't think he will ever see another super bowl though.
