There are seven teams that have won back to back Super Bowls, and one team, Pittsburgh, that has done it twice: 

Green Bay Packers - 1 & 2 
Miami Dolphins - 7 & 8 
Pittsburgh Steelers - 9 & 10 and 13 & 14 
San Francisco 49ers - 23 & 24 
Dallas Cowboys - 27 & 28 
Denver Broncos - 32 & 33 
New England Patriots - 38 & 39

Is this a "find a stat to support your lean" thread?

Since the Pats won SB 38 ten years ago and lost in the divisional round the next year, the Seahawks are the first team to win a single playoff game following a SB win.

11 SB Winners return the next season and 8 repeated or 72.7%.

Seattle is a SB winner, not a SB team that lost, like the early 90's Bills or the 80's Bronco's.

The Patriots beat Carolina in Superbowl 38 and beat Philadelphia in Superbowl 39.

Btw, I bet $10,500 on Sea LY and another $5k on Sea 2nd half...I am going the other way this year.

Pats run defense held their opponents to 79ypg 2nd half of the season. 


Siliga, wilfork, branch ...about 1000k lbs listed weight to stuffing the run. GL lynch trying to run over those guys.

LOL That' why Lynch will run right up the middle, it takes a long time for 1000 lbs to move and by the time all that weight does move Lynch will be past them.  We agree to disagree. I would say best of luck but I detest people that cheat to win.  Seattle is my play.

Those are the last 9 superbowls. Based on those trends, 6-2-1 ATS...that would favor Pats statistically and mathematically. Hey, it's your $...that's why there are winners & losers. Good luck to us degenerates.

"Why bet against Seatle" . On two playoff games , they were nothing but  luck and bigger luck . Oh yeah , on the delated bowl , people try to pump it up so the bet gap may get closer , is that the L.VEGAS want to?

Are you not understanding what im saying? All the losers in your trend are the previous super bowk LOSERS. When its a super bowl WINNER going back again they do quite well and since the super bowl WINNER is the one in this scenario i would think that might concern you

Take a little time to look it up instead of counting on covers,  They did not lie, just not giving the entire story. They are counting all SB teams, not SB winners, so a losing SB team gets back like example Bills and losses again................. why would you be surprised by that ?

What covers did was bent and twisted the info to fit their perception by counting all SB teams, not just SB winners which Seattle is a SB winner.

 And then they went back to the year which made the info look the best it could look to support the Pats.

Fact, 11 SB winners have made it back TO the SB in the SB era , 8 of those repeated. Those 8 repeat winners were 6-2 ATS in the repeat SB. This makes all SB winners getting back 8-3 SU and  6-5 ATS.

Fact, past 5 SB winners to get back to the SB are...............4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS.

Fact, there has been a repeat SB winner in every decade in the SB era beginning in 1966, except in the 2010's........YET.......soon to be...................

Those stats are made after games are played not predictions of what is gonna happen. How could the Pittsburgh steelers have any effect on this game? To win a superbowl you need a lot to go your way and Seattle has a lot going their way. I would begin by comparing the stats of the two teams playing. New England has by far the better offense but Defense wins the big game, at least in this one. New England is over rated and Seattle shouldn't be there. (yes angry Packer fan). I would not bet against any of these teams......My pick is the Under 48.5

I also think this game will be the first to go to OT!

I can give a Stat too that Russell is 10-0 vs. Superbowl winning QB's and that's only going back 3 years.  My heart is on the Hawks....This will not be a blowout....IMO
