Why did the Giants go for 2 after a TD?

They scored a TD to make it 24-16. If they kick the PAT it would make it 24-17, but they failed the 2 pt conversion.  They just scored another TD and failed the 2pt conversion. It is now 27-22 and they will not cover.  The score would've been 27-24 if they kick their PATs

yeah went for 2 twice today.. and for those who bet the Giants if that is the difference at the end would be extremely frustrating

Giants have screwed those that have backed them multiple times this year.. 

if down 14 and you score a td, you go for 2 in the second half.  it's math/statistics.  google it if you want the details

That's what happens.

Cowboys scored a TD to make it 27-19. If they kick the PAT, it would make it 27-20. But,they went for 2 and made it to make it 27-21. The spread has no bearing in this situation. The point is why are teams going for 2 when clearly they should be kicking the PAT? The only logical reason is that they don't want to go into overtime.  I guess it is "cool" to go for 2 in today's NFL. This is certainly not your grandparent's NFL era. lol

Everyone's been doing that lately. It's what analytics says to do. In the long run, you have a positive EV with this strategy.

Unless you're the Giants. Then you probably shouldn't do it. Their 2-pt conversion rate is probably far below league average. Someone look it up and let us know.

There is no better way to demoralize a fan than going for 2 when it’s not in your best interest along with all the other coaching decisions that dummies chalk up to coaches all of a sudden being stupid.

It's the new algorithm

Seen this a lot in NFL and especially NCAAF. I'm wondering if they let the computer decide their play call as well because I've seen a lot of dumb plays made going for 2. Particularly that one play where all players line up on the left side. Never seems to work lol.

Have you been living under a rock? Teams are doing this now down 14. It's retarded but that is the new trend.

I get analytics is the thing right now, but Daniel Jones is a variable you cannot ignore.
