OK, I was looking at it from the point of this week's result.
So, the teams that continue their streaks and go 0-3 or 3-0 you will need to double the bet the following week.
Then, the teams that continue 0-4 and 4-0 you will need to again double the bet.
5-0 or 0-5 double again. You need deep pockets to carry this through to the end and the farther you go you are betting against really good teams and betting on really bad teams.
Yeah, in theory you will eventually come out plus, that is unless you wind up with a year featuring a win-less or an undefeated team.
Carried to the extreme, you are doubling up your remaining system plays every week and praying they do by the end of the season either win or lose a game.
If you have the resources to keep doubling bets week after week in your worst case scenario, it comes down to betting that by the end of the season, there will be no undefeated and no win-less teams.
A dollar doubled: !, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 5096, 10192, 20384, 40768 week 16.
so your accumulated loss by week 15 for that win-less or undefeated team is 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 +16 + ......+20384 = 39767
Your wins? week one you win $1 on each winner and reduce your remaining teams to bet on or against.
Week 2 you win $2 on each win and further reduce your remaining team pool plays.........your $2 win gets your $1 back for a $1 profit.
This is completely ignoring the vig on the wagers as well only for the sake of argument even though the vig compounded does change the required bankroll needed to finance this scheme.
How realistic is a $1 beginning wager? Starting at $100 you would be wagering 128,000 on or against any 8-0 or 0-8 teams Week 8....
You have very low reward up front on your system and very high risk on the back end.....
Just thinking out loud....
I know this is just an idea you are tossing out there, not something you are actually doing.....
