if they need that motivation they would not be undefeated, more important is KC off a bye
with the game's best coach who has had HUGE success in the past in this situation.......................gl

The chiefs aren’t motivated by an undefeated record. They have said it from the beginning the goal is to 3peat. Right now their goal is to figure out how to navigate their injuries and get more efficient on offense. Losing to a non conference team likely wouldn't have much impact on their seeding and playoff aspirations. Does it mean they lay down for this game, not at all. I just wouldn’t put much into the angle that you mentioned.

This is an interesting angle. Both teams coming off a bye. I like Minnesota to stay unbeaten but Kansas city loses at San Francisco
Minnesota is a legit 5-0 and has only trailed for like 3 minutes the entire season. I think with Flores blitz packages, Goff will not have time to dissect the defense. And with Detroit compromised with loss of Hutchinson, Minnesota will control both sides of the line of scrimmage.
Kansas City is great, yes, put a fraudulent 5-0 and there will be a major motivation edge for San Francisco triple revenge, 2 super bowls and regular season blowout. Also, Kansas city is on a shortened bye off Monday night football while Niners are off mini bye Thursday night game, so it's only a 3 day rest advantage as opposed to 7 days. So the 21 - 4 Reid off byes is not really significant here.
The Chiefs are sitting pretty with a 5-0 while the Niners are mad as hell being only 3-3. Shanahan will have a lot of exotic plays drawn up this game

also Darnold sat on the bench last year for the Niners learning from guru Shanahan, now he's quarterback of an elite Minnesota team, even though it's the purple people eaters defense that is the focal point.

Hard to believe that the cream doesn’t rise to the top here. Both 5-0 teams off a bye have the better defense. Couple that with the two better coaching staffs. I see regression coming for Detroit and KC as a dog is a tough bet against.

100% agree on both of these points and I believe that a team that has won its first five games against the spread in a row and is now playing at home in front of their hometown fans with an undefeated record the vikings motivation will be second to none and coupled with the fact that Detroit has won convincingly on the road last week and is on the road again in a hostile environment winning two weeks on the road is possible but I don't think it will happen here in Minny but hey that's what the forum is about trying to get an edge in handicapping the game and as for KC .....Yes! As a dog with an undefeated record of it's own is a tough wager even considering that Frisco has had this game marked on their calendar for awhile.
Good luck players whichever way you decide to play it this weekend.

@the1toturn2
Motivation is a key part in handicapping.
In examples:
Does a team get increased motivation when the opposing team trash talk?
Does a team get increased motivation when playing in the opposing teams home stadium after being beat by the same team earlier in the season?
Does a team get increased motivation when a star player is hurt or injured?
Does a team get increased motivation when a key figure from their franchise dies or is diagnosed with a life threatening injury?
The list goes on and on and if you think a team plays up to their potential week in and week out with 100% motivation you are sadly mistaken.
Teams Motivation is and should be a big part or a part of everyone's handicapping games playbook on any given Sunday if you ask me.
Good luck on your plays this weekend 1toturn2

@lvblitzforce
If Minnesota wins or loses it's irrelevant the chiefs as they always do can beat you at anytime and at anyplace but if the Vikings lose I feel it's just an increased motivational factor (to take under consideration) to be the only undefeated team left in the NFL this season for the already tough to beat Superbowl back to back champs.

Trash talking? Are you capping the NFL or Pop Warner football? Does it influence you when commentators or coaches say ":Bulletin board material?" Good for fortunate with your wagers too but you are looking at things all wrong in certain instances
