1st half..Full Game..2nd half..Close Games..Blow out Games...the over hits every which way. You rarely see a 1st half..Game & 2nd half under hit...Only one primetime game this season I believe..the Philly/Giants Game did this. The totals' on these games are not even close.

Rules were changed to increase scoring and improve the aspect of passing more. Most bettors just ignore these facts.
It doesn't help a team still attack in a blow out game. I understand if a team can't stop a running game in a blowout game but a team up big passing on every down..make no damn sense . Also up big and don't use the clock effectively

I swear just a few years ago, when a team was up big at half or blowout, it was almost certain to go under in the 2nd half. Teams would try and slow it down and run clock.

Rule changes have nothing to do with the horrible defenses put out there by Chicago & Carolina the last two nights. Even under the old rules those games would've totaled 60+ points, given the pathetic defensive showings by the dogs. The NFL is so full of weak sauce, it can't be prevented from appearing on primetime anymore, whereas in the past - with few-to-no Thursday games - there was enough strength around the league that weak sauce fixtures rarely saw the light of day on primetime. This year, every week features at least one if not two weak sauce fixtures. Therefore blowouts, therefore Overs. Five of the last eight primetime SU winners have scored 40+ points. Ten years ago you'd be lucky to get five SU winners over an entire primetime season who managed to score 40+ points. Mismatches are as much to blame as any rule changes. The lack of close games is the telling factor - only one of the last nine games has been decided by less than a 14 points margin.

Well obviously the emphasis on illegal contact surely made a difference.
Little nudges and holds can make big differences in a cornerback's play.
Another big reason for the scores is the hurry up offense. Chip Kelly has made a difference in both college and the NFL, where some said it'd never work. Chip's a real trailblazer.

OPEN to a new TREND ( if you see... it HAD BEEN out there for the last 10 weeks )
for this season - 2014 - Primetime games are MONEY for OVER bettors - Why try to go against the TIDE ?
If it aint broke , why FIX IT ?
The point of this thread is that even linemakers set the 2nd half line knowing or expecting the scoring to decreases when a game is a blowout at halftime.

Beside cam going for the home run couple of times and finally getting it. Philly was the team throwing the ball while Carolina was running and grinding the clock. Make no damn sense
