That doomed slant play call was made by the Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, not directly from HC Pete Carroll*.

How could anyone forget.  Worst offensive call in Superbowl history IMO. Close second is having the Falcons in field goal range and making it a 2 score game and then sending in pass plays to Matt Ryan.
