1979 was when I placed my first bet too. It was the KY Derby, General Assembly to place. My dad gave me $2 to bet and asked me to pick a horse and I picked General Assembly, a longshot, to come in second, not first, don't ask why, I was 9 years old, didn't know anything. I just picked the name because my dad worked at the Chevy plant. It cashed, about $30-$40, so I bought myself my first pair of baseball spikes. Memories........................RIP Dad
