Small nugget for the game Sunday vs Coyotes that may or may not mean much for Blackhawks motivation. But in a garbage game like this, any little thing can tip the scale sometimes.
Pat Foley has been the Hawks announcer for 39 years and he is retiring after this season. The Hawks are honoring him Sunday for Pat Foley day at the United Center. He is one of the best announcers in the game and has many Hall of Fame calls under his belt. He has called 99% of Kane & Toews games in their careers and I think they will want to send him out with a win on his day. They both have a little gas left in the tank when needed. I could see Kane giving foley a hat trick to call on his day.
side note: the hawks are currently tied 2-2 in Tampa as I write this on Friday. There was a big trade between the hawks and lightning and friday is the first time the traded players are playing against their old teams, so those particular players are giving max effort tonight, they could have tired legs sunday.
also, the scheduling spot for the hawks isn't great. they will be playing 3rd in 4 days after being playing back to back in Miami and tampa. while the coyotes will be coming off a couple days rest.
Take it for what it is worth. neither team is going to the playoffs. sunday nights are ritual for lots of fans in chicago, so hopefully they draw a decent crowd and they get fired up watching pat foley highlights on the jumbotron calling some of the best hawks goals ever. Hawks will be favored, but in a game like this where the veterans may want to give 100%, the score could get ugly, i would take the hawks on the puck line. as a chicago homer, i have not played on the hawks much, if at all this year. this nugget just stuck out to me. Good luck everyone.

ugh. they tried to knock the coyotes out in the first period. had a bunch of shots and only 1 goal. they faded after that initial push. Sorry if I led anyone down the wrong path.
