Canucks/Predators

Yep it's me again.  Settle down you faders.  Lets say 0-6 thread created plays minus a lot of units.  Actually 0-3-1 last thread created but I'm just counting the days.  Before I get to the automatic fade for those who love my created threads, let me try and dazzle you with some numbers.

Regular season Canucks averaged 28.3 SPG and 3.4 GPG.  Predators 32.2 and 3.24.  In the playoffs the Canucks are dead last in SPG at 18.4 and the Predators are 2nd to last at 24.4.  In the 3 games at Vancouver the shots were pretty even but the 2 games at Nashville the Canucks were out shot 33-60 but yet they still managed to win both games.  That's what they do.  They were 2nd in regular season with 12% and are 4th in the playoffs at 13%.  The 2 games in Nashville they were a crazy 18.2%.  I don't think that is sustainable.

Desmith was great his first game in Nashville allowing 1 goal on 30 shots.  He played 3 total regular season games in April all on the road.  In 2 of those games he gave up 6 goals each.  The other game he held the Oilers to 1 goal on 33 shots which looks impressive.  But the Oilers were playing with no rest and maybe in a little funk losing to the Coyotes the night before 2-3 OT @-263.  In March he played 1 road game at the Ducks and allowed 1 goal on 18 shots at -262.  Only 2 games in February, both losses as favorites on the road and allowed 8 and 4 goals.

Bottom line, I am not buying Desmiths great game in Game 3 and the 18.2% the Canucks have shot in their 2 road games.

Ha, great that figures.  You are correct.  I like the Predators about the same.  We all remember this kids first playoff road win last Sunday.  Predators had a 3-1 lead with under 3 minutes left and the Canucks pulled their goalie twice to tie it up and then win in OT.  Boy was the air let out of that place after each goal.  I could feel it from my couch.  I'll assume that doesn't happen to often.  I think they can score 3 on the kid again and that should be enough this time.  Good Luck

I really think the Predators are the better team.

Game 1 they loss 2-4 but led 1-0 after 1 and 2-1 after 2.  I watched that game and if i remember correctly the Canucks scored 2 crazy goals.  1 off the helmet of Saros and another off the chest of someone I think.  They also got an empty netter at the end to seal the lucky win imo.

Game 2 they bounced back great with a 4-1 win winning all 3 periods.

Game 3 they lost 1-2 losing period 1 1-0, 2 1-0 and winning period 3 1-0.  They out shot the Canucks 30-12.  Canucks 2 goals were both on PP.  Maybe the lights were a little bright that first home game after missing playoffs last year and tied 1-1.

Game 4 they lost 3-4 OT after leading 3-1 with under 3 minutes to go.  Brutal!

Game 5 they win 2-1.  Very impressive.  After probably their most deflating loss at home they get the win on the road to extend the series.  Didn't watch that game but it looks like it was a battle.  0-0 after 2 and the Canucks even led in the 3rd 1-0.

Game 6 I can't see 0-3 at home with this team especially after that deflating last loss at home.  I had questions on how they would react to that game 4 loss.  After game 5, I have no questions about game 6

Rough!  Still felt good after 1.  Knew puck line was toast after 2 but still felt all right.  Early in the 3rd I had a feeling it was over.  No freak goal this time.  That was a hell of an assist.
