Congratulations to Sidney Crosby

Only player in NHL history to average a point per game for twenty seasons. Just unreal. 

This guy is really the prototype. Lives, eats, breathes, sleeps the game. No flash, No scandals, clutch. 

I’ve seen a lot of great players. Mario still sticks out just personally as a magician on skates. Sid deserves his place among the greatest.

I have said for awhile he might be the most underrated/ under appreciated player the league has seen.  I used to say it was Hawerchuk but Sid has won at every level and been best play at every level Dale didn’t.

Being from Pittsburgh and watching Sid for the last 20 years { Where does the time go? } It has been a pleasure. One of the most respected Hockey players around. Shame the Pens overall are just a former shell of a Cup team.

Iam a huge sports card collector, wish I had Crosby young guns in my personal collection. Hopefully I can still get his young guns renewed from 2024-25 Upper Deck Series 1 and send for grading. Got Mcdavid and Ovechkin young  guns (original) just missing the last piece

he is the goat and a true legend. 

The GOAT of this generation and it is not even close.

 Probably...but Ovi is just a scorer. His ass didn't play the 200 foot game like Sid and that is not even a discussion. Greatest goal scorer, yep but no where near Sid when it comes to all around hockey player. And last but not least...the number that counts 3 to 1.

 Don’t have to convince me, there are actually a number of hockey players ahead of Ovi in this era as far as full game players.  Thst conversation is not even about Crosby and Ovechkin.

That is impressive.  20 years & 1+ ppg.  Didn't Gretzky also accomplish this?  The Oil joined NHL in 79, and he retired in 99, and I would wager a lot that he was 1+ ppg in his career.

 No Gretzky did not accomplish this, hence the thread you’re reading my friend  it was noted the moment Crosby scored on Buffalo the other night. Gretzky did not average a point per game in 20 different seasons, he did in 19 seasons. Only Crosby had done this and that will be one seriously hard record to ever break. Also he may not be done at twenty, the way he looks there’s no reason he can’t average a point per game next season, he’s on phenomenal condition and one Ovi he’s not loaded up with stacks of steroids and human growth hormone, Sid is just naturally well conditioned and healthy.

And I would agree that he could go more - watched the Tittsburgh Buffalo game the other day, and he still looks great, and was easily their best player on the ice.

 a monkey think of his kid as a cutest creature ever existed same as canadian when it comes to crosby but reality is record that matter the most will go to russia and canadian people have to live with it

Hard to argue that.  If he (Bossy) didn't have to retire early due to his back, he would be the one Ovi would be chasing.  573 Goals in 752 games before retiring.  Map that out to 1400ish games, and he's well north of 1000...
