They didnt want the oilers to have a good goaltender. Trading him outside of division is a good thing but could have gotten more. Still stunned.

&#xD;&#xA;that was pretty much the assessment from commentators @ the draft. Oilers offered more BUT Canucks didn&#x27;t want the trade "bouncing back" at them having to play against Schneider &#xD;&#xA;Oilers got an excellent D prospect with Darnell Nurse @ #7

Love the move. Welcome back Roberto, free up cap space and get a stud prospect who will crack the lineup next season. Goalie&#x27;s are a dime a dozen. Schneider isn&#x27;t that much of an upgrade over Roberto.

Another great talent with the 24th pick. I like what Gillis is doing. Hunter Shinkaruk. 1 of 3 players in draft with 100 junior goals. Bob Mackenzie had him ranked 14th.

Like Luongo, Schneids had a chance to prove himself and was no better. Canucks had two great goalies but no help upfront.
We see when Luongo was on the biggest stage in an Olympic Gold medal game he won! 5-0 in the tournament and 4-0 after replacing Martin Brodeur who will now guide the Redhead.

The NHL is such a wonderful "fantasy" league isn&#x27;t it?  You have teams trading, acquiring and signing players that have absolutely NO MONEY whatsoever ...ie Coyotes and brokeA SS Devils. The Devils couldn&#x27;t even meet payroll for their existing players, yet they get players like Kovolchuk and Schneider and the dead desert mutts sign SMith to a lengthy lucrative contract.  What a facade
