Eric Staal trade to Leafs?

Does anyone believe this is going to happen? I heard D-man Jake Gardiner and centre Nazem Kadri names mentioned. I can't see this happening unless there's 2 things involved. 1) Carolina is broke and its a salary dump 2) Carolina is broke and Staal is damaged goods.

I believe there is some truth to the talks bc judging by last nights crowd in Raleigh, I don't see how they afford an 30 yr old oft injured centre making $8,500,000.00 yr player

plus a first rounder. I hope they don&#x27;t make that trade. Its like the Leafs of old trading away the future for a player who has probably played his best years already. He would be a short term fix up the middle with long term consequences

I don&#x27;t think much of kadri and Gardiner....do you?  Theyre both ok but no all stars that&#x27;s for sure.  IF Staal is capable of getting healthy and playing the way he plays, I think it makes Leafs playoff contenders at the least.  Money should be of no concern as it is not ours.  Let the BAST ARDS spend the max

Not so worried about them as much as giving up another first rounder. Just tired of there bullshit and giving up our future for players who have most likely played theyre best hockey. Don&#x27;t get me wrong id love to see Staal in a leafs jersey. I wont hate it if they do it though, kinda used to this by now.
