I do not understand Utah Season Points O/U. This is largely the same team with a couple minor changes at the Blue Line. Their Goaltending is still below average, so what is going to make them 13 points better this year? Right now I can get 89.5 Under at even $$$...
Dallas seems like a good Over Points bet. And I think my Canes are a decent Under bet as they lost several key players like Tuevo, Skjei and Pesce, along with not signing Jake. And their Goaltending is the same, minus Raanta. Just don't see them over 102 this year. The Blue Line is just not the same w/o Brady and Brett. Maybe the Habs Over?
Any thoughts?

Don't really like futures because one or two injuries and it is done. Throw you my two cents. I like the Preds over, Bolts under, Canes under and yes, I would throw the Utah team as an over. I am expecting things out of them this year. Don't ask me why..new city, new fans, new environment. Before Laine injury I thought Habs over but just him could make a difference in several points. My pre-season top 3s in each division:
Atlantic:
Leafs, Cats and Bs
Metro:
Rangers, Devils and Isles
Central:
Dallas, Nashville and Colorado
Pacific:
Vegas, Edmonton and Vancouver
Surprise teams to me, outside of Nashville. Yes, I have the Isles up there. Think Roy will light a fire, especiallly if Sorokin can get his head out of his arse. Here is the question everyone wants to know, which of the 3 will make the jump this year (although, this was the same talk last year). Detroit, Buffalo or Ottawa???? That is a whole topic in itself. Personally, I would like to see the Sens excel. I like Ullmark addition. In the Western Conference, I will be interested in seeing what Winnipeg and Kings will do this year. I look for a step backwards. No, I don't have the Oil winning the Pacific. I think they learned from Florida last year and will know the importance of rest and maintaining to make the run, but yes, I have them to win the Cup. Just some of my thought.

The 2 things I don't like is the "new team/fan base angle and maybe yotes/Utah finally due to take a step forward...and for cbj the "play for gaudreau angle"
Lean buff u88.5, ott u90.5 and sea u87.5 as well but like the 2 above more

I don't get the line either d
Like Utah u87.5 and cbj u67.5

I'm with Doc here , futures are too big a crap shoot for me and God knows I don't need anymore crap ,right?!
Agree with Utah Under at your number Dy, while they may get some boost from the new surroundings and all that comes with that I don't think it's enough to move the needle that far .And while I don't know what number you have for Dallas , I think 104-106 pts is pretty much their ceiling.
Habs line at 77.5 sounds about right , would have jumped at that with Laine healthy , wouldn't now.
As for Columbus , they are going to be terrible. It would be nice to think they will "play for Gaudreau " , but who is going to do it ? there's not a lot of goals in that line-up!, and Elvis is ready to leave the building.
Good Luck

I just personally don't trust ott or buff...they might be ready to take the next step but I'm not so sure
And like you said. I'd bet unders if anything. Major injury or goalie injury and maybe a team plummets...but to hit the over they basically need to hit prognostication numbers and stay relatively healthy
@rustie
ya I like the Utah and cbj unders the most by quite a margin. The other 3 are numbers I thought might be a hair high, i trust Ott the least of ott, buff, sea

Agree with all of your top 3's Doc except maybe that Ilses pick , while it's almost certain Roy will be a positive influence this year (I say this year, as I think his personality wears thin after a while) the Ilses need Sorokin to be 100% if they are to pass the Canes IMO. Where it gets interesting is the 7-8 seedings. In the East I would pencil in the Bolts and then we're left looking at a mix of Sens, Ilses , Sabres ,Wings and your Flightless Fowls .
As for the West the question is, how far does Winnipeg and Calgary regress and how many of those points does someone like Utah and Seattle gain? The Central Division got a little tougher this year with the Preds off season moves.
And the Cup goes to ........... Canada!!!

I'm with dubz - not buying the new surrounding angle. One thing to add - lots of these guys have to relocate, or have yet to. That presents extra off ice burden on every player, not just the off season moves. They're professionals, but it can be a distraction especially early in the season.
Preds very trendy pick, but my book is 98.5 -125 juice. I'd rather risk 99.5 at even money.
Dallas i can get 103.5 at +110. While Dallas did not make any big splashes, they also did not lose any key wheel cogs. I think they have been to B2B WCF's as well, and like these guys to be focused more games than not.
CLB - just don't want to touch that one. Such a tragic beginning to a season. Hard to say how the team will respond, but I am not gonna try and profit off it. R.I.P. Johnny.

Feel like I am ogling that hot chick at the gym whos got the skin tight booty shorts on, as I can't stop staring at the Preds offseason moves. And FanDuel has them at -110.
Preds Total Points Over 98.5 -110 2 units
