How do you let McDavid get so free in slot

Auston Matthews gets lost and leaves the man open in slot. He also had a couple chances to score and couple weak attempts. no excuse for letting McDavid get free and getting lost on the ice. 

Yeah that was a complete fu*k up defensively by USA I mean I couldn't believe McDavid was left alone in the slot like that that was too easy, how do you not have someone shadowing him there?

@cali I thought i was the only one who saw that . Mathews blew the coverage and left the greatest player in the world alone in the slot in sudden death. What did everyone think was going to happen? 

I mean it happens. It’s sports. We see blown coverages in football, we see bad defensive routes on fly balls in baseball. People make mistakes, good players find openings. Tell me who here is perfect at their job? In fact I prefer watching college level sports because there are more mistakes making the games have bigger plays. Imagine a sport where the defense is 100% on top of things all the time? You’d be bored out of your mind watching that trust me. I lived through the dead puck era. Trappy, 1-0 2-1 hockey games aren’t much fun to watch.
