This story is from mid-April. What he actually said was that if Calgary decided that they wanted to completely rebuild and they wanted to move him, he wouldn't force them to keep him.

It was probably just his way of expressing frustration towards some of this season's team decisions.

Maybe Sutter should have traded Phaneuf for a number one centre like Mike Richards when he had the chance! Maybe resigning Cammi when he was in Calgary! The bottom line is Iggy has never had a number one centre to play with, so Sutter go out and get one.

Gotta feel bad for Iggy - the guy is a monster (and a class act all the way) and proves it time and time again in International or All Star competition (where he actually gets to play with non-pylon creative centers who can actually feed him the puck).

You just gotta love Sutter and his unchanging myopic view; that is, it's the same ole bullshit postmortem/season-analysis and continued misdirection for years now, when the answer to the Flames woes (at least in large part) is glaringly simple to anyone who has ever watched the Flames play: GET THE LAD A FUCKING PROPER/HIGH-END CENTER.
