Fire HC Jay Woodcroft and assistant Dave Manson
Hire HC Kris Knoblauch and assistant Paul Coffey
Knoblauch was in 5th season as HC of AHL Hartford Wolfpack.
Sounds like McDavid hiring all his friends.
Knoblauch was McDavid's coach for OHL Erie.

No XP and he was a very Offensive minded Defenseman in his day. Is that really what help the Oil needs? Hire a fucking Goalie coach.
Interesting hires... squeaky wheel thing going on here...? God to appease your superstar until it blows up in your face...

Locked in:
Edmonton to make playoffs YES -150 (cyrax type of undisclosed units)
Now is the ideal time to load up on Oilers futures to make the playoffs at -150...they are not going to continue this poor play moving forward...this may end up being the largest single NHL wager I'll ever make.
The Paul Coffey hire is a good one. He will bring a lifetime experience of being a winner at the highest level, knows what it takes within the locker room to win multiple cups, is a local legend in Edmonton, and will take off all the pressure from the Rookie HC when it comes to handling the media.
Edmonton ML (1st home game with new coach betting angle is typically a solid play...every player should be dialed in and give maximum effort for "the team") parlayed with Under 56.5 in the MNF gets you +100 tonight

Goalie coach is the one that puzzles me. He has been there for 7 years I believe and there goalies have been atrocious for those 7 years. The hiring of McDavids JR coach i think is a good move. I seen the game McDavid was stapled to the bench in Erie for the last period and everyone in that organization was scared he was going to ask to be traded or his parents would make a fuss. Well guess what after the game McDavid was asked about being benched and he said he deserved it so as for playing for his JR coach I see it as a good thing. Knoblauch can coach so everyone calling him a rookie coach so was Woodcraft he came from the AHL when he took over. I believe the Oilers can turn this around. There best two players have not been that so something has to give usually it starts with the coach. Next will be GM and player trades if they cant figure how to start winning.

@thornton6
I agree with you, things turn around almost immediately. Good on Edmonton realizing they had to make these moves now before the season gets too far lost.
The entire mentality of the team needs a major shift to defensive hockey, get back and help out the goalie...their offense will always be there with the talent on this roster.
Winning 3-2 is a lot more fun for players playing hockey in June than losing 7-5 during the season and getting their meaningless stats then golfing in June.
Not sure who Oilers go to goalie should be, but it's been proven with so many Cup winners that all you need is a decent goalie who gets hot in the playoffs and who doesn't let in the bad goals in pressure moments. Perfect example is how Vegas rode Hill all the way in the playoffs.
Load up on Oilers to make the playoffs Yes @ -150 before the books adjust this very generous line.
