Lots of playoff bases on today so the writeups are gonna be short...you're welcome.
I
like the fact that BUF has a game under their belts already and played
well against a tough WINGS team in DET. They don't have a ton of
firepower though and OTT also plays defense first so I'm using the +1.5
to the UNDER

The
WINGS play in CAR and also have a game under their belt. Plus they had a
day off to travel and rest. The CANES are not a great team and when
adding to that the fact it's their home opener and they may have a some
nerves/rust while DET is ready roll is a nice edge for the WINGS

The
FLAMES played well last night and made WASH look very bad at points of
the game. They were somewhat robbed of a win though as they lost in a
s.o after leading 3-0 after the 1sdt period. The could be in a letdown
spot tonight. But even so I don't feel CLB deserves to be -180 faves in
their first game of the year against a team that already played, and
played well.

The
JETS are around the bottom 5 teams in the NHL in some power ranking and
I think thats off quite a bit. And LA is top 5 which also may be a lil
higher than I'd put them. And with WIN at home and rested for a few days
now and tonight playing at home in front of arguably the loudest barn
in the league,at least person for person as their capacity isn't as much
as some of the other buildings. I think they take this one albeit
against a good team....that played last night and then traveled from
MINNY to WINNY.
///////
The
AV's were saying they would have a new approach this year under fiery
new haed coach Patrick Roy. And boy did they ever live up to
expectations the other night with a dominant performance against a solid
playoff team in the DUCKS> Now they host a NASH team that is not the
same as they have been over the past few years. Losing one of the best D
men in all of hockey can do that to you. They always had trouble
scoring but were great defensively. Their still pretty good at keeping
the puck outta their net but really struggle to score. So tonight facing
a young, exciting and likely very confident bunch they may be in big
trouble. Plus NASH got rolled hard last night in STL and had to travel
to play in COL in the think mile high air. Whereas the AV's have had a
day off with no travel to get ready to go 2-0 on the year. Give me the
AV's as the P.O.D tonight
