Very disappointing effort for what is expected to be an top tier team. They had no significant injuries, well rested, and should have been motivated to get their goalie his 300th career win. What I did overlook here was the team was coming off 2 consecutive losses to the ducks & Av's. I assumed a top tier team would have taken the opportunity to right the ship here. I have been concerned the Jets do not have adequate scoring depth and will begin to fade in the 2nd half of the season (same as last year) as they rely too heavily on Connor to keep the puck out of the net. Something I will be watching closely.

It’s NHL regular season hockey teams go through the motions some nights. The jets know they’ll be in the playoffs, a one off night in January means nothing to them. The avs cruised their way through a home loss last night too against a Habs team in a back to back and at the end of a long road trip with very little effort. Carolina also took the night off last night with a pathetic effort. That’s modern sports, players and teams take nights off. Shouldn’t happen but it’s a reality.

This for me is the most frustrating part about betting sports entertainment. I know they do not give a rat's ass about my O5.5 bet but there is absolutely no rhyme or reason for when these teams decide to take the customary "night off because we will be in the playoffs no matter what". As someone who stopped buying tickets to these events long ago because of issues just like this (nothing would piss me off worse than to drive from charlotte to Raleigh or even Philly to see a game and i pay good money to see professional athletes paid millions of dollars just lollygag around the rink. SKATE! HIT! SCORE! It is indeed maddening to watch.
It will drive you even more insane trying to bet against it. Watching a team like FLA get shut out 4 times in the month of December because they just flat out didn't show up to work (Words from the players mouths after the game in post-game presser) will drive you insane because there is no way to cap it. It would seem to someone that a team should ALWAYS show up on home ice. What the hell happened to COL last night against a MON team on the second leg of a B2B? WIN losing to DET @ home? CAR getting shut out in front of their home fans by MIN. I have a list of examples where one team shows up, performs to their average and the other team just doesn't. NJD are another team that comes to mind.
I had a lot more but its Sunday funday and I'll be damned if I spend it on a "sports entertainment director" rant. It's just a damn shame is where il leave it. BOL with anything today! We can cap our best but at the end of the day it's out of our hands and into the machine. Cheers!
