Senators-Caps

Washington is hosting Ottawa this evening and holds an eight point lead in the conference standings over the Senators. Curious as to why Ottawa is favored (-135) in this one? 

Washington 1st game back off a road trip and the Sens have been playing some good hockey. Oshie was also injured during the game in Tampa.

OTT has been playing better over this stretch 

Looks like WSH has some injuries too while OTT is healthy 

Yeah but is was only a short two-game trip. Usually when the road trip factor comes into play, the team is returning from at least a four-game trip. 

Also consider this: Kuemper has given up 3 goals in each of his last 3 starts and gave up 6 against this Sens team earlier in the year. Meanwhile Forsberg is coming off 4 straight wins and 3 of which were against solid teams. 

I can't wait to follow this one. Everything points to the Sens, to me. But this is the NHL and it wouldn't surprise me at all if Washington pulls this off.

the opening line, and the line movement on top of it makes no sense to me either.

Tricky game IMO.

I'd slightly leans Sens but I don't like it enough to bet it.

2 of Kuemper's last 3 starts were on the road where he gives up 3.65 average this year.  His other home start he held Vancouver to 2 goals in regulation which is good.  He averages 2.7 at home.  3 of Forsberg's last 4 wins have come at home where he gives up 2.79 average this year.  But his 5 games on the road he has given up 4.3 average.

Both teams have played decent last 4 games with 2 common road opponents.  They both lost at Florida 3-2 in OT.  And both beat Tampa.  Washington won 5-3 and Ottawa beat them 4-2.

I see a pretty even game so I will take the home doggie +120.

Forsberg last 3 starts vs Caps: 3-0, allowing only 4 goals with a save % of 0.949

Kuemper last 3 starts vs Sens: 1-2, allowed 12 goals with a save % of 0.875

But I agree, tricky game to call.

This game is nuts 2-0 2-2 4-2.  I feel no lead is safe.  I thought about the over dammit!
