He is a legend so we all respect him. Nobody else could get away with some of his mistakes and general lack of awareness on some plays.Its funny yet a bit sad at times because you are watching the effects of his age now.

...&#xD;&#xA;&#xD;&#xA;somewhat amazing to me even now that danny retired at 67...&#xD;&#xA;bob at 81 still has the great pipes but doesn&#x27;t keep pace very well anymore (if at all) with game tempo...&#xD;&#xA;cbc will be surrendering hockey broadcast rights which is a blow to a great tradition but I won&#x27;t mourn the departure (one assumes) of what I consider some of the worst game and studio analysts in sports...&#xD;&#xA;glenn healy: sanctimonious windbag...&#xD;&#xA;craig simpson: bland voice, passionless delivery&#xD;&#xA;pj stock: can almost  visualize his brain forlornly trying to keep pace with his mouth...&#xD;&#xA;fresh blood please, asap

The sound of his voice brings back so many great memories but the longer this goes the sadder it gets. I never thought I&#x27;d say it but it may be time to go.

They have a pretty darn good radio announcer for the Flames' play by play by the name of Peter Maher who just recently called it a career up here in Calgary. Alot of times i prefered hearing him calling the game over the radio than the live tv commentators covering the local team here. Also, who can forget that historical 2010 coverage of the Olympic gold medal game between the USA & Canada that he covered (9:03):
