I think he did a pretty good job with a rudderless Flygirls team the last few years but after the deadline...things have really gone south. I mean...Philly is a dumpster fire right now.
I would like to see the Bruins sign him to put a little bit of accountability back in a team that is totally lost. Of course...they need to fire Sweeney and Neely to stop the absolute destruction of the draft pool in which they have pretty much have no one NHL ready.
Sad times in 2 great hockey cities.

Thank fucking god. That old useless loudmouth dinosaur has done nothing but ruin good young players since being there, including driving away cutter ghautier . His benching of couturier without reason last year caused the team to quit and lose ten straight and lose their playoff position, same shit again with cam York this season. For the last twenty years he’s done nothing but drive teams into the fucking dirt. Why the egomaniac keeps getting hired is an absolute mystery. The NHL needs to get its shit together and stop recycling these garbage coaches. Good fucking riddens and wayyyy too late.

Only a matter of time and I've been saying it for the past couple of weeks. The team has progressed from bad to worse and he had to go. He wasn't getting any more from his players.

One proven winner who is good at being recycled is Peter Laviolette, I’ve been hoping for a while for the scenario that he gets fired by rangers and we hire him to replace loudmouth asshole

I think that he is good for 1-2 years where there are personnel problems and lack of accountability in the locker room precisely because he will bench anyone. I mean last season Philly was by all thought as a bottom feeder and he got them close to the playoffs even losing Carter Hart. He has a short shelf life though and if you look at his records with failing teams in the first 2 seasons he seems to do pretty well IMO.
I looked at the team this year and took the under 85.5 points thinking they maybe overachieved. They made a run up until before the deadline where they were in the race but have collapsed since.
He ranks in the top 20 in NHL coaching wins and 2 time Jack Adams award winner.
Like I said...I look at him as a short term ( 1 to 2 year ) plug in for organizations in disarray which seemed to work initially at Columbus and Philly. After 3 or so years...however...I will concede players seem to have problems with the hard nosed style.
I would certainly take him behind the Bruins bench for next year. Certainly respect that we all don't agree on everything.

He took a weak playoff team and transformed them into arguably the worst team in the National hockey league with an abundance of good raw talent at his disposal. There is less talent now because of him. He never really won a cup because Gélinas scored for the flames but under the America only agenda of Bettman, they refused to even review yet goal, preventing Calgary from winning that cup. With that in mind for a quarter century he’s won nothing absolutely in the NHL. He destroyed good talent on Philly and scared other additions away with his egomaniacal bullshit. He’s a dinosaur who’s way past his use.

I was at the game Tuesday night and it was one of the worst efforts from a professional team I have seen in 40 years of going to see live hockey. The goalie couldn't stop a beachball, Michkov was only visible floating around the ice, he didn't win one puck battle all night, they can't put two passes together and they aren't physical at all mainly because they lack size all over the roster. The coach always gets blamed but this team has very little talent which is pretty obvious. They have been outscored 52-21 during a 1-10-1 skid. I say good luck to whoever takes the next full time coaching job with the Flyers because this team is a mess from top to bottom.
You learn more from losing than winning. You learn how to keep going.

As soon as the goof is gone the team explodes with a spirited effort and hard fought, well played win, with a 6 goal explosion. Speaks volumes. The clown lost the team last year when he benched couturier the most popular guy on the team, they tanked every game after that with zero effort and couldn’t give a fuck all this season. Now with this cancer gone they can start to build their team again, and stop scaring away players.
